Strongman and grip

You can have strong legs, or brutal back strength, but if you don't have a strong grip, you are actually useless in Strongman sport... It's true that I have experienced in my career that there could be snatches, but those were only exceptions - the fence was 400kg back then, but otherwise forget about snatches.

We're strongmen, so deadlifts - deadlifts, farmers walk - trunks, timber carry - fences and hercules hold - holding anything, you just go without jerks. It's pure and simple grip strength.

But what if you don't have that power in your grip? Well, you're in the *ss* in the sport of Strongman. You can't do without that around here. It's a fact that genetics do a lot. And there are some people who have a naturally strong grip, but most people don't.

So stop crying like little girls and let's try to do something about it!

When I first started in Strongman, I didn't have a grip that strong either. And to do something about it, I bought two training wheels and squeezed for 1 year. And that was almost all the time. I don't want to describe any grip training here. I didn't have one myself. There are plenty of forearm workouts on the net, but again, this is strongman!

To improve your grip, I recommend alldeadlifts be done without snatches. And try it with an axle axle. Trust me, it really makes a difference. Next, after the Farmers Walk workout, just lift the trunks and hold whatever your hands or your head will allow. Next, I used to hold a one-handed grip with a 5cm diameter handle and squeeze the wheelbarrow - you want the black ones because the blue and red ones are for kids.

Take this as my opinion and my recommendation. It's all up to you anyway. May the force be with you.
