Farmer's walk (trunks) - training

I think that everyone who is at least a little bit interested in strongman knows very well what discipline it is. Carrying two identical loads that look a bit like suitcases (like when you are running for a train and you have luggage in your hands). I have carried many things in my career. Suitcases of different shapes, lengths and most importantly weights.

In the Czech Republic it is common to carry suitcases weighing from 100kg to 130kg among amateurs and from 150kg to 180kg among professionals. And again, similar to the Super Yoku, suitcases are carried for 20m or 40m and on time. Usually it takes 1min.

Some might say, yea, I'll take the jerks and then carry the total rockets, but this is STRONGMAN, this is about raw power, sogrip strength is the most important here. And of course, strong legs, back andmiddle of the body. All of that has to be there, but for me, the most important thing is the grip.

Training:

When I train trunks, like with Yoku, I have to determine whether I'm going for distance or speed. Whether heavy suitcases or lighter ones for technique. And again, we're back to technique. Before you pick up the "trunks", it would be good to have someone show you and explain it to you. How to breathe, that you need to firm up the middle of the body and what steps to do. It's all about training.

The trunks themselves I train for a certain distance, a few warm up sets, and then I set a weight, usually something around 150 - 160 kg and I do that 3 - 5 times.

Additional exercises:

Exercise Series Repetition
Trap Bar 5 5
Plank 5 1 min

Still don't forget the technique, because you only have one health. So not only muscles but also mind are needed. May the strength be with you
