"Big Ramy" wird nicht an der Europa Pro 2020 teilnehmen!

Der klare Favorit auf den Sieg bei den morgigen Europa Pro Championships 2020 und den Aufstieg zum diesjährigen Mr. Olympia sollte der ägyptische Koloss Mamdouh Elssbiay sein, der eindeutig der stärkste, erfahrenste und erfolgreichste Kämpfer auf der Bühne ist!

Doch "Big Ramy" wird nicht antreten! Nach seiner Ankunft in Spanien wurde er positiv auf Covid-19 getestet!

Mamdouh kommentierte dies auf seiner Instagram-Seite:

Ich möchte offiziell bekannt geben, dass ich POSITIV auf COVID-19 getestet wurde und daher nicht bei den Europa Pro Championships am Sonntag, den 11. Oktober 2020, antreten kann!
Ich möchte den Athleten und Veranstaltern des Wettkampfs sowie meinen Freunden viel Glück wünschen.
Ich bin am Boden zerstört über diese Nachricht, denn sie kommt völlig unerwartet, und dies ist bereits die zweite Vorbereitung, die ich wegen dieses Virus unterbrechen muss ...
Nach der Absage der Arnold Classic Australia sitze ich seit 5 Monaten in Dubai fest, und jetzt ist eine weitere große Chance, mich für den Mr. Olympia zu qualifizieren, direkt vor meinen Augen verschwunden.
Aber das Leben geht weiter, und die Show muss weitergehen. Wenn es nur nach mir ginge, würde ich antreten!! Ich habe ein bisschen Husten, aber nichts Großes. Aber es wäre unverantwortlich, das Leben der älteren Menschen zu riskieren... Also werde ich diesen kleinen Virus bekämpfen und zu dem zurückkehren, was ich am meisten liebe: Bodybuilding!

I would like to make the official statement that I have tested POSITIVE for COVID-19. Therefore, I will not be able to compete this Sunday 11/10/20 at @npceuropean championships. I wanna wish good luck to the athletes and the promoter of the show my friends @emilio_martinez_romero and gian rico . I am devastated with this news as this is completely out of my control and it is the second preparation i loose cause of this virus... I stayed 5 months stranded in dubai after the cancelation of arnold australia and now another big chance to qualify for olympia just vanished in front of my eyes... But life goes on and the show must go on if it was just about me i would go and compete!! I have a little cough but nothing that bad but it would be irresponsible for me to risk older people life...So I will fight this little virus and get back to doing what i love the most :Bodybuilding... I want to thank everyone around the world for always supporting me YOU ARE MORE THAN FANS YOUR FAMILY . Please, know that I will be taking all precautions to not transmit this virus to anyone, i will quarantine myself a couple weeks and return stronger and healthier than ever..
