"Big Ramy" will not compete at Europa Pro 2020!

The clear favorite to triumph at tomorrow's 2020 Europa Pro Championships and advance to this year's Mr. Olympia was supposed to be Egyptian colossus Mamdouh Elssbiay, who was clearly the most powerful, experienced and successful fighter on the stage!

However, "Big Ramy" will not be competing! After his arrival in Spain he tested positive for Covid-19!

Mamdouh commented on this on his Instagram:

I would like to make an official announcement that I have tested POSITIVE for COVID-19. Therefore I will not be able to compete at the Europa Pro Championships this Sunday, October 11, 2020!
I want to wish good luck to the athletes and promoters of the competition and to my friends.
I am devastated by this news as it is completely out of the blue, and this is the second preparation I have to interrupt due to this virus ...
I have been stuck in Dubai for 5 months after the cancellation of the Arnold Classic Australia, and right now another great chance to qualify for Mr. Olympia has disappeared right before my eyes.
But life goes on, and the show must go on. If it was just me, I'd go compete!! I've got a bit of a cough, but nothing too big. But it would be irresponsible to risk the lives of the elderly... So I'll fight this little virus and get back to what I love most: Bodybuilding!

I wanna wish good luck to the athletes and the promoter of the show my friends @emilio_martinez_romero and gian rico . I am devastated with this news as this is completely out of my control and it is the second preparation i loose cause of this virus... I stayed 5 months stranded in dubai after the cancelation of arnold australia and now another big chance to qualify for olympia just vanished in front of my eyes... But life goes on and the show must go on if it was just about me i would go and compete!! I have a little cough but nothing that bad but it would be irresponsible for me to risk older people life...So I will fight this little virus and get back to doing what i love the most :Bodybuilding... I want to thank everyone around the world for always supporting me YOU ARE MORE THAN FANS YOUR FAMILY . Please, know that I will be taking all precautions to not transmit this virus to anyone, i will quarantine myself a couple weeks and return stronger and healthier than ever..
