Shaquille O'Neal boasts of character: 'In a past life I was Phil Heath'

NBA icon Shaquille O'Neal recently showed his passion for bodybuilding to the fullest, which caught the attention of Phil Heath and Ronnie Coleman. In an Instagram post, Shaq showed off his chiseled physique in several poses. Shaq is a legend in basketball history whose accomplishments on the court will never be forgotten. He had a long and successful 19-year career and won four NBA titles during that time. He played for six different teams including the Los Angeles Lakers (1996-2004) and was considered one of the best centers of all time.

When the world faced the COVID-19 crisis, O'Neal struggled with weight gain and reached a weight of over 150kg. He decided to lose weight by following a training plan where he exercised at least 4 times a week. A six-pack is not done in the gym, but in the kitchen, so Shaq also admitted that avoiding junk food was an integral part of his weight loss journey.

Shaq's training regime consisted of 20 minutes of cardio exercise and 40 minutes of strength training. O'Neal was trying to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. He is a bodybuilding fan who, at 51, still attracts attention on social media with his massive physique.

"In a past life I was @philheath, we're almost there @rocshabazz that @novexbiotech #gf9 baby" Shaquille O'Neal wrote.

Shortly after Shaq's character appeared on social media, eight-time Mr. Olympia titleholder Ronnie Coleman and seven-time winner Phil Heath praised him.

As a die-hard bodybuilding fan, O'Neal follows the sport closely. He was a special guest at the 2020 Mr. Olympia competition and helped promote it. O'Neal also attended the 2021 Arnold Classic and had the pleasure of meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger face-to-face.

It wasn't Shaq's first tease of the bodybuilding scene. Last October, he stunned fans with another posing update. After losing nearly 20 kilograms, O'Neal didn't expect his physique to go viral, but said his ultimate goal is to become a sex symbol. He added that he would also like to pose next to his sons in underwear ads and wants his figure to stand the test of time, by which he meant old age.
