"I lost a total of 43kg, but it didn't end there," says Nikola
Hey. Hey,
My name is Nikol and I would like to share with you my transformation, which started on March 8, 2022. Before that, I have to go back a few months, when my scale was showing 98 kg and I was very ashamed of myself. The weight limited me in every way - my entire family was forbidden to post pictures of me at parties, I stopped taking complete care of myself as a woman, I refused to buy new clothes, I stopped wearing makeup because I thought there was no point in looking the way I did. My psyche was at a standstill, and I wasn't enjoying anything.
The paradox was that my whole life I didn't understand how obese people could end up like that and let it go that far, and eventually I ended up like that too, and it didn't last long at all. I knew it was wrong, so I decided to start fighting it - how else but alone and especially at home, because I refused to be around people and the gym was out of the question for me. I bought an elliptical trainer and started working out at home. I managed to lose 10 kg, but thanks to the fact that I didn't know how to eat properly, what protein and carbohydrates actually are, I gained the weight back to 93 kg in no time. And that's where I really said ENOUGH for the first time.

I realized in my head that I couldn't do it on my own and I needed to learn very basic things about food and the body, so I started googling and found Kelogy. To this day, I still think it was the happiest googling of my life. I made an appointment and here we go back to March 8, 2022. I went into the gym with a terribly small heart and a crazy fear that everyone would be looking at me through their fingers (as they all have when they start their transformation). But no, no one was really looking at me or laughing at me. My trainer, Marek, introduced himself to me that day and when he started talking, I knew right away that this was the right person for me.
He set up my diet, explained how my body works and what it needs, but most importantly he was incredibly patient because I'm the kind of person who is quite stubborn. He didn't have an easy time with me at the beginning, but we developed a very good relationship with each other based on trust, and I think that's the most important thing between a trainer and his client in order to reach that dream goal. I knew I could text him anytime and he would be on the phone right away to help me. I had it set in my head right from the beginning that I was going to make it. I never even acknowledged that I could fail or that it wouldn't work.
And when I threw up from the Airbike, my coach told me I wouldn't be the first or the last and that we still had to finish the series. I was consistent the whole time and really didn't cheat on anything. Of course, on vacation, I was happy to indulge in pizza and alcohol, but in moderation. And when you start to enjoy the workout, it just works itself out. So head, discipline and consistency - these are probably the most important aspects for me to succeed
I set a goal that when I lose weight properly, I want to undergo abdominoplasty, because the skin was very saggy due to weight loss. And I did, in April 2023. I lost a total of 43 kg, but that wasn't the end of it for me. A friend of mine said to me this phrase: "Never be completely satisfied with yourself, but be proud of yourself!". And he was right about that, because when exercise becomes your hobby, you want to keep moving forward and meeting your goals. For me, my immediate goal is to try Spartan and to try Run Slovakia in the summer.
In conclusion, I guess I would just like to write that exercise should be something automatic for people, because just as we take care of our hair, for example, we should also take care of our bodies. The body will pay us back. And I don't mean that everybody should start gymnastics right away or do a top sport. Just take a walk with your dog or with your family. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner. Don't worry about it, if you change your mind, you'll change yourself :)
