No more "slacking off" and a return to order: Josef Květoň has ended his resting phase
Czech heavyweight Josef Květoň has had a difficult period. After mixed feelings from the EVLS Prague Pro and an unpleasant pectoral muscle injury he took a well-deserved rest. But now he reports a return to hard mode.
In our previous articles we have followed Pep's journey full of determination. Despite a torn pectoral muscle that would have put many others out of the game, Kveton has made it clear that he is not giving up. His goal was clear: to put on a monstrous 140 kg and return to the podium bigger than ever. But to achieve this, he had to let his body regenerate.
And that's exactly what's been happening over the past month. As Joseph revealed in his latest social media post, he's had a "resting phase". What did that mean in practice for a fighter who is used to brutal intensity?
A month of relaxed regime
"I've been training about 3 times a week for over a month. I didn't bother with food," Květoň openly admitted to his fans.
For a body that was taking a beating in preparation and had to deal with structural damage to muscle, this "off-mode" was probably a necessary necessity for a physical and mental reset.
Photo as motivation, not reality
Kveton attached a photo to the post in which his arms and shoulders look like they are carved out of stone, with extreme vascularity. In one breath, however, he adds important context:
"A photo from the preparation. This is definitely not what I look like now."
He himself jokes about his current "post-rest" form, which only proves his detachment. Thus, the archival photo serves more as a reminder of the standard he wants to get to (and beyond) soon.
Back to work
But the era of advocacy is over.
"It's time to get it right again and lean into it," Josefreports .
The plan of attack for the aforementioned 140 kg of bulk weight seems to be coming to fruition now. It will be interesting to see how quickly his body "catches up" after a month off and if he can move his muscle volumes to where he had set out to be after his disappointing performance at EVLS.
