WSB - squat method - part 2
Louie Simmons of the Westside Barbell Club in Columbus, Ohio, coaches 13 squatters over 360kg, 24 bench pressers over 255kg and 25 deadlifts over 315kg. Such a concentration of performances is unparalleled in the world. It may be worth exploring their training methods.
In the second part of the series we will look at another cycle of the dynamic squat.
After nine weeks, Simmons recommends switching to a different method of additional weight. The goal is to avoid resistance when using the additional weight. This involves engaging the bands. These should make up about 25% of the final weight. I discuss the purpose of using incremental weight in the articles http://www.kulturistika.com/retezy-bandy-sila-i and http://www.kulturistika.com/retezy-bandy-sila-ii.
Cycle by weeks:
Weight of dumbbell + strength of elastic bands
- 1. 45% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 2. 50% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 3. 55% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 4. 60% + 25% x 8 sets x 2 reps
- 5. 65% + 25% x 8 sets x 2 reps
- 6. 45% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 7. 50% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 8. 55% + 25% x 10 sets x 2 reps
- 9. 60% + 25% x 8 sets x 2 reps
