"The form is ready," Nicola Vachova is heading to Olympia Amateur Eastern Europe!

At the end of last year, the EVLS team expanded with another woman, this time the bikini Nicola Vachová. She competes in the category of bikini fitness up to 165cm, in which she managed to win the Czech Championship in 2021 and thus became the best competitor in this division on the domestic scene. Nicola didn't just make the team though, through her hard work and great effort she has shown everyone that she is a really great competitor. This is what the EVLS team management noticed and accepted Nicola into their team. Thanks to this she was able to move to the NPC federation, where she will have her first performance this Sunday!

At the Olympia Amateur Eastern Europe in Romania she will face many competitors from different countries. If she does really well at the competitions, she could even get her pro card, which could allow her to try to make it to Olympia!

Today, however, we want to offer you an interview with Nicola, in which we will take a look at how she is feeling before the races and how she perceives her debut in the NPC.

Hi, Nicola. So how are you feeling before your first NPC race? Are you scared or are you calm?

Hi, I have to say I'm pretty calm so far. There's still a few days to get nervous (it will come). However, I know that we have done our best to get in shape. We didn't underestimate anything, I'm ready. I don't have to stress that we are not running or that the form is not complete. Now we are just letting the form run its course and I am really looking forward to the races!

The Olympia Amateur Eastern Europe starts on August 19, so your preparation must be at its peak, right?

Yes, we are going to register on 19.8. and my category will start on Sunday 21.8. The form is ready, now I just need to fill the muscles slightly and let the body rest, so that the form and the whole package I will present on stage looks fresh.

If I'm not mistaken you can also get a pro card at these races, do you plan to get a card or do you have another goal?

Exactly, at pro qualifying races like Olympia amateur it is possible to get a PRO CARD. I consider myself a competitor who does not go to competitions just to "try" them. We consistently work on better and better form, presentation and posing all year long. I mean, yes, my goal is to succeed at competitions and bring the best possible result. This is my very first start in the NPC federation and I don't dare to guess how I will look among other competitors, if I will fit in and how my whole competition "package" will look like. Moreover, bodybuilding is a subjective sport. Performance is not measured by time or any other limit. You simply have to look good on stage, the rest is up to the judges.

Did you change anything in your preparation from the previous ones?

I don't think we've changed anything fundamentally in our preparation. I've been through a few competition preparations already, so we know exactly how to set up the training plan and the diet (followed by the diet) to get the best results.

Is Robert coming to the races with you?

Of course. I can't imagine racing without my coach and fiancé in one. We experience everything together, the victories and the failures.

Do you already know which competitors you're going up against, or is this not a concern?

Online registration for the competition closed Sunday night. So there's no list of competitors yet. But I have to say, I'm not really worried about it. It doesn't make any difference if you know who you're going to be on stage with. On the contrary, it's much better to focus only on yourself. If there's one thing you can influence on stage, it's your own form and presentation. You can't control how your opponents will look.

Can you give us an update on your diet and leg training?

As far as food goes, it'll be quick. I eat oat-rice porridge with egg whites, protein, high percentage chocolate and fruitfor breakfast(breakfast is also my meal before strength training). After the workout it's rice porridge, again with eggwhites and protein.

This is followed by 3 meat meals (mainly chicken and beef), along with side dishes of rice, potatoes and pasta. The last meal before bed is an egg white and protein pancake or Greek yoghurt with protein.

For leg workouts, I now have 3 variations that rotate. Each workout includes basic exercises and my workouts are based on progressive overload (low volume, high intensity work). Each workout includes exercises for the hamstrings, quadriceps and glutes.

Will you bring any supplementation with you to the races?

Yes, wherever I am, I need to be as comfortable with these things as I am at home. Of course, for me, the ISO Whey Prozero from Nutrend and vitamins from Life Extensionare a must .

A week after you get back from the Olympia Amateur you should be going to the 2022 EVLS Prague Amateur, how are you looking forward to this race? After all, it will be in front of a home crowd.

I'm looking forward to EVLS as much as I'm looking forward to Olympia in Romania. The fact that I don't have to travel anywhere and the races will be on home soil is more pleasant for me and I believe that the races will be well prepared.

If you win a pro card at the Olympia Amateur, you won't be able to enter the EVLS Prague Amateur, right? You won't be an amateur anymore, you'll be a pro.

Yes, that's right. But we're really only talking in theory. I'm not thinking about it like that at the moment. As I wrote, it's my debut in the NPC and if we can achieve some success it will be great, but we won't get ahead of ourselves. You can't even plan these things and we'll leave it to fate.

Nicola, thank you so much for the interview and have a great time at the races!

Thank you for the interview.
