Ronnie Coleman has been working out in the gym again despite being on crutches!
Ronnie Coleman has had to make a huge sacrifice in the form of his health in order to stay on top of the bodybuilding scene he dominated from 1998-2005 before Jay Cutler was dethroned. Ronnie was plagued by many musculoskeletal health problems after his competitive career ended, for which he underwent around ten surgeries. However, despite all his health problems, Coleman has managed to pull himself together at least a little bit and is now able to go to the gym, where he may not lift the weights he did in his youth, but he works out with great effort!
I may have a bit of mobility issues, but I still train my legs twice a week every week. I miss doing squats more than any other exercise I've ever done. But at least I still have some leg strength left.
However, Coleman also remains very active on his social media, where he tries to inspire and advise his fans with tips on exercise. He even recently hit the gym with insfluencer Jesse James West, who has nearly two million followers on YouTube!
During his workouts, Ronnie revealed, for example, that what builds muscle is protein, of which he used to take 600g a day! He also told how he felt about winning his first Olympia:
"I had no idea I was going to win. I never thought I would win. Coleman explained. I turned pro in '91. My first Olympia was in '92."
