Keto diet and recipes: try these delicious and easy meals
The ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate diet that will help you lose weight, improve your health and increase your performance. On this diet, you will eat a lot of fat, a moderate amount of protein and a small amount of carbohydrates. The keto diet is based on the principle of ketosis, which is a state where your body burns fat instead of carbohydrates as an energy source.
The keto diet has many benefits for your health. It can help you lose weight, lower your blood sugar, improve your cholesterol levels, and reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases. The keto diet can also help improve your mental health, boost your energy, and improve your performance. You already know if the keto diet is the best way to reduce or also about all its advantages and disadvantages. But you're doing it for the first time, so you'll easily stumble when choosing your meals and seeing their variety. It's time to expand your diet with more keto culinary foods.
Here are some simple recipes to the keto diet for inspiration to make this diet more manageable and most importantly, fun too!
Keto Breakfast.
This is a great tip for a hearty keto breakfast. Using an egg as the bun in this classic sandwich is a really genius move. We topped our sandwich with bacon, cheddar and avocado, but feel free to fill it with your favorite filling! Sausage might also be in order.
Ingredients:
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons water
1/2 avocado, lightly mashed
1 slice of cooked bacon, halved
1/4 tbsp grated cheddar cheese
Procedure:
Step 1: Place two jar lids (with the center removed) in a medium nonstick skillet. Add a little butter or olive oil to the pan and place over medium heat. Crack an egg into the centers of the lids and lightly beat them with a fork to break up the yolk.
Step 2: Pour water around the lids and cover the pan. Bring to a boil and let the eggs steam until the whites are cooked, about 3 minutes. Remove the lid and sprinkle one egg with cheddar cheese. Cook until the cheese is slightly melted, about 1 minute.
Step 3: Dump the egg rolls without the cheese onto a plate. Top with smashed avocado and browned bacon. Place the cheese bun on top, cheese side down.

Keto snack: Bacon/guacamole bombs
Bacon + guacamole = our perfect combination for the keto diet. When you put them in bite-sized pieces like these snack bombs, you really won't be able to get enough. Homemade guacamole is wrapped in bacon bits and definitely makes for a great snack.

12 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
For the guacamole:
2 avocados, pitted, peeled and mashed
150g cream cheese
Juice of 1 lime
1 garlic clove, minced

1 small jalapeño (without seeds if you prefer less hot), chopped
2 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground chilli
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Step 1: In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the guacamole. Mix until mostly smooth (some chunks are fine) and season with salt and pepper. Place in the refrigerator to firm up slightly, about 30 minutes.
Step 2: Place the crumbled bacon on a large plate. Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out the guacamole mixture and place it in the bacon. Wrap it in the bacon. Repeat the process until you have used up all the guacamole and bacon. Store in the refrigerator.

Freshly ground black pepper

Keto Dinner: Salmon stuffed with feta, spinach and tomatoes
Oven-baked salmon is delicious on its own, but adding a filling of salty feta cheese, earthy cooked spinach, and tangy-sweet cherry tomatoes takes your favorite fish up a few levels. To finish, the salmon is sprinkled with a mixture of sage, crushed red pepper flakes and yes, more feta. If you're following keto, try cauliflower rice or noodles as a side dish!
Ingredients:
100g seedless cherry tomatoes, cut into chunks
Salt
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 sage bulbs, green and white parts separated, sliced
150g fresh spinach, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
2 tablespoons plain Greek yoghurt made from whole milk
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
50g feta, crumbled, split
250g salmon fillets
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Procedure:
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 250 °C. In a fine sieve over a small bowl, mix the tomatoes with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a large cast iron or ovenproof skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the garlic and white parts of the sage and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the spinach and thyme and cook, stirring occasionally, until wilted, about 3 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the tomatoes to a medium bowl and transfer the spinach mixture to a colander. Let cool slightly, then pat dry with paper towels. Grease a baking sheet and place it in the oven to preheat.
Step 4
Add the spinach mixture, yogurt, coriander, cumin and half the feta to the bowl with the tomatoes and mix.
Step 5
Pat the salmon dry; season both sides generously with salt. Using a thin, flexible knife, cut a long slit deep into the side of each salmon fillet without cutting through the opposite side. Using a spoon, fill each pocket with one-quarter of the filling.
Step 6
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Place the salmon skin side down on the heated baking sheet. Bake the salmon until the meat flakes easily with a fork, 8 to 10 minutes. Turn on the heat and watch the salmon carefully until the tops begin to brown slightly, about 2 minutes.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix the red bell pepper, parts of the green salad and remaining feta. Sprinkle them over the salmon.
