Fenugreek | A testosterone boosting miracle or another unnecessary investment?
Although fenugreek has been used as a condiment for centuries, it is relatively new to fitness. Manufacturers of vitality supplements have claimed that it can increase testosterone levels, and therefore, like tribulus, have started to use it extensively. But where is the truth? Does Fenugreek really increase testosterone? Or is it just another useless invention of good marketing? That's what we'll look at in today's article.
What is fenugreek?
Fenugreek is one of the plants that have been used for a really long time and although its origins are probably somewhere in the area from the Mediterranean to Ethiopia, it was already described in our territory in the 19th century. While the above-ground part of the herb can be used to feed cattle, the seeds were recommended by folk medicine for digestive problems, nausea and coughs, and the fenugreek was used externally for, among other things, swelling. However, the most significant use in the long term is in Indian cuisine - fenugreek in the form of ground seeds has always been a part of spicy dishes such as curry or chutney. But then studies began to emerge that pointed to a possible increase in testosterone...

Fenugreek hay is recommended by folk healers, for example for coughs, indigestion and nausea.
What do fenugreek and anemone have in common?
Have you already read the article by Supercoach on Can Bulgarian tribulus boost Testosterone? If so, I certainly don't need to remind you of its point. But if there happens to be someone among you who missed the article, a little summary is in order. Indeed, some studies show that ground anemone increases libido and thus promotes sex drive. And this does indeed appear to be true. However, it does not mean that it increases testosterone and thus somehow affects body composition. Unfortunately, anemone can't do that and it won't help you with muscle building.
And fenugreek is largely similar. In fact, scientific research shows that this herb can increase sex drive and libido, which is certainly desirable for many people. However, the studies conducted on testosterone boosting do not come to a uniform conclusion and it is clear that we will have to wait at least for the time being for any relevant result.
Is it just a money grab or does it have any benefits?
Although the study certainly doesn't come up with clear conclusions regarding increasing male sex hormone levels, manufacturers of supplements that support vitality and testosterone levels still use Fenugreek. So you may be wondering why this is and whether it's just a money grab. And we can reassure you, it's not. In fact, Fenugreek has, at least according to research to date, a whole host of potential benefits. Among the most important are:
Helping with weight loss
While lacking any larger studies, the research conducted so far has revealed the ability to curb appetite - respondents taking fenugreek spontaneously reduced their dietary fat intake. This means that fenugreek may be an effective aid in weight reduction. And it is a person's weight and amount of body fat that has a very significant effect on hormonal optimization. As great as this news sounds, studies to date have studied this issue in the short term and primarily in overweight people. Still, this may be one of the reasons why fenugreek is included in TST boosters used for hormonal optimization.

Respondents who used fenugreek spontaneously reduced their fat intake by up to about 15%.
Optimizing blood sugar levels
The second important property that scientific studies have found is the ability to reduce blood sugar levels. This effect has been observed in both people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and in completely healthy individuals, whose blood glucose levels dropped by more than 13% 4 hours after taking fenugreek. It is the monitoring of proper blood sugar levels that is quite central to the prevention of diabetes and other diseases of civilization.
May lower cholesterol
The last frequently mentioned benefit of fenugreek is associated with the possible reduction of cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, which many studies have indeed confirmed. It is optimal cholesterol levels that are important for maintaining cardiovascular health.
Which product do we recommend to choose?
Fenugreek can also be found in whole seed form, but in our experience we do not recommend this option. Firstly, a relatively high dosage is required (up to 5 grams per day) and secondly, fenugreek has a rather specific and not very good taste. It is therefore much better to go for the extract. And if you want a really effective supplement, it is better to choose a combination of several scientifically proven ingredients than just one ingredient. You can't count on higher testosterone, but products like Testo Virus or Health Balance can definitely come in handy for overall vitality.

So what can we take away from this?
The main thing you should take away from today's article is that fenugreek does increase libido according to existing research, but it's not so hot when it comes to increasing testosterone itself and thus making it easier to build muscle. There is nonetheless justification in various testosterone optimization products that, while they don't increase testosterone, do help with overall vitality. In fact, it can effectively help you lose weight, optimize your blood sugar and even lower cholesterol according to some research. And what more could you ask for in terms of overall vitality?
