Milan Šádek in an interview for Seznam Zprávy

In the world of bodybuilding he is one of the most famous names. In the IFBB Pro Milan Šádek left his weight class and is going to the American stage in the heavyweight division.

The New York Pro Open in the non-overhead weight category is the benchmark that Czech bodybuilder Milan Šádek is now aiming for.

I'm going to try how I will look next to the bigger competition, next year I would like to win such competitions.

Pre-competition preparation generally takes about four months. During that time, the gym workouts are more intense, up to 12 a week, and the diet is strict. After the competition, there is usually a period known as the "volume phase", when, on the other hand, the training sessions decrease to give the muscles time to recover.

Bodybuilding, however, is not just about exercise, but also about food. The diet is strict, although occasional lapses in the form of so-called "cheatmeals" are allowed. The prevalence of anabolic steroids casts bodybuilding in a bad light.

Many guys want to look like me and the rest of us after a few months, but we've been doing it for fifteen years and the journey has been tough. A lot of people want to use steroids to speed up their journey to their dream physique, but most of the time they stumble and soon quit.

After returning to the Czech Republic, Šádek will be at the biggest domestic bodybuilding event NaberSvaly EXPO in Prague's Letňany, where the Czech bodybuilding top will be presented.
