Martins Licis and Justin Medeiros at a joint deadlift training session

The 2019 World's Strongest Man of the Year, Martins Licis, and the best current crossfitter, Justin Medeiros, recently got together to train together. As misleading as this information may seem, it is indeed the case. Martins Licis is currently training for the Arnold Strongman Classic, where he will surely be looking to win gold.

Licis managed to win the Rogue Invitational strongman competition earlier this year at which he set a new world record in the Thor's Hammer, which now stands at 136 kg (299.8 lb). Medeiros followed up his CrossFit Games victory by winning the Rogue Invitational CrossFit, proving that he is the ultimate champion this year.

And in the video below, you can watch Licis and Medeiros practicing deadlifts together. Medeiros also talks in the video about his WARM-UP, which he couldn't train without.

Medeiros finished the deadlifts with 500 lbs. Although Medeiros' body weight at the time of this deadlift was not disclosed, the CrossFit website lists his weight as 190 pounds. Licis followed Medeiros' deadlift with 605 pounds for five reps, with Medeiros and other training partners watching (very quietly).
