Wolf shatters the illusion of bodybuilding: It's a dangerous sport where health goes by the wayside!

Although Dennis Wolf is no longer actively racing, he still maintains a fantastic form and stays in touch with the fans. In his recent post, he focused on a topic that is more relevant today than ever before - longevity in bodybuilding and a safe approach to chemistry.

"Bodybuilding is not a healthy sport"

Wolf isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. He says it's naive to think that at the professional level, it's a healthy lifestyle.

"Nobody talks about it, but we all know it: bodybuilding is not a healthy sport, especially the professional one," Wolfsaid . "Pro bodybuilding is not about health. It's about building as much muscle mass as possible and presenting it on stage in extreme quality and sculptedness."

With that statement, Wolf joins other legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger who have recently warned that the pursuit of bulk is becoming dangerous for athletes.

The key to longevity: less is sometimes more

Wolf pointed out that the length of an athlete's career is directly related to how they treat their body. He cautions young bodybuilders against the "the more the better" trend.

"It all depends on how you treat yourself. If you go crazy and overdose on special supplements (PEDs), you probably won't have a long career," Wolfwarns . "You have to start slow."

It's this approach that allowed him to race at the top for many years and stand on the podium alongside icons like Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler and Dexter Jackson without destroying his body to the point where he couldn't function normally after his career.

The problem of our time: information chaos

According to Wolf, today's racers have one big advantage and disadvantage at the same time - the Internet. 30 years ago, information was hard to come by, but today it's abundant on YouTube and social media. The problem is quality.

"It's maybe easier today than 30 years ago, we have a lot of information... but you have to filter it. If you can sort through the information and only take the right ones, that will be a big plus for you," Wolfadvises .

Advice for future pros

If your goal is an IFBB Pro card, Wolf has a clear message: You have to give it your all.

"If you want to go all the way to the Pro League, you have to focus on bodybuilding only. If you do anything else, it will take you longer to get there."

He also recommends finding a good trainer, although that's not a strict requirement, and focusing on the basics - food, training and supplementation.

Dennis Wolf is living proof that even after a career in an "unhealthy sport" ends, one can look great if one uses one's head and doesn't go beyond tolerable limits.
