The legend of Dorian Yates is taking my breath away! At 64, he showed off his incredible quadriceps
Age is apparently just a number for six-time Mr. Olympia titleholder Dorian Yates. Though he has long since left the competition stage, his latest social media post proves that "The Shadow" is still maintaining a form that most athletes a generation younger can only dream of.
Dorian Yates, who dominated professional bodybuilding from 1992 to 1997, recently shared a photo of his legs, which even at 64 years old, clearly show deep detail and muscle separation.

"The love of iron never fades"
The picture was taken during Yates' visit to Dublin, specifically at the Body Byrne gym. Dorian has attached an emotional message to it:
"A bit of leg posing here in Dublin. It took me back in time 30 years to the days of 'The Dungeon' (his legendary basement gym in Birmingham) where I used to take weekly photos to track my progress. The love of iron never fades... the legs are still there!"
His fans didn't hide their amazement in the comments. Words like "incredible quality" or "shadow never fades" were repeated on hundreds of posts. For many, Dorian is the epitome of longevity in bodybuilding.
How does the champion train today?
Although Yates was famous for his brutal High-Intensity Training (HIT) style of training, which emphasized maximum intensity and failure in a single work set, his approach today is much more focused on health and mobility.
- Weight training: he currently lifts weights only twice a week.
- Cardio and Mobility: In between strength training, he does Pilates, yoga and assault bike riding. This mix helps him maintain a functional body even after a demanding career and hip surgery.
- Diet. Surprisingly, he eats only two main meals a day - lunch and dinner.
The legacy of the king of "Blood and Guts"
Dorian Yates forever changed the standards of bodybuilding with his extreme muscle density and "blood and sweat" approach. Even in retirement, however, he shows that bodybuilding is not just about the competition years, but about a lifestyle that keeps a person vital even in advanced age.
Along with other legends like Lee Labrada, Dorian proves that proper training and discipline are the closest thing we have to the "fountain of youth".
