Bodybuilder Sam Sulek talks about nutrition in volume when grocery shopping

Despite all the negative attention he has received, Sam Sulek continues to work towards his goal of becoming a Classic Physique category bodybuilder. Part of that process includes bulking up his physique. In a recent YouTube video, Sam Sulek shared his current diet along with his grocery store purchases to give viewers a better understanding of how he eats while gaining volume.

At the beginning of his trip to the grocery store, Sam Sulek wanders down the cereal aisle to stock up on the essentials: And that's Special K.

"What better aisle to start your first grocery store journey into volume than the cereal aisle? So I'll temper my enthusiasm a bit. I'll still buy the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, of course. Come on, I'd be a fool not to. But honestly, like most, I'm a bit more of a fan of that freaking Special K. Two boxes of it would be perfect."

Sulek revealed that he's reducing his sugar intake and switching to more easily digestible carbs instead.

"I'm reducing my sugar intake, yep I'm reducing my sugar intake. Most of those carbs will come from, well, just slower digesting carb sources. It's not as taxing on my body, which is something I've only recently started to understand."

The aspiring bodybuilder confided that he wants to reach a weight of 127 kilos at first and in a few years he wants to reach a monstrous goal of 136 kilos. He also explained that he is reducing his fat intake and taking in calories mainly through carbohydrates.

"I have to somehow get to 127 kg and quickly a few years after that I have to somehow get to 136 kg. That's a big challenge for me. If I can align myself with this machine, this big as shit thing that's pushing the cart here, which is my body, the sooner I can do that the better."

"I'm trying to limit my fat intake, you know? Because I'm trying to, like I said yesterday, my main concern right now is to maximize my carbohydrate intake. I want the majority of my calories to be carbohydrates. But I'm still going to take in 150 grams of fat."

Sulek continues his grocery shopping, buying several dozen eggs and containers of egg whites. Then he picks up a box of precooked white rice.

"I won't say it's the Sam Sulek method, but it's so easy to cook. You don't need any pots, pans or anything fancy to make it."

Sulek says. Sulek opts for bowls of instant mac and cheese (Annie's brand). It wouldn't be a Sam Sulek haul without a few packs of Top Ramen.

"I don't see a fucking problem with it. I'd be more concerned if you were trying to diet," Sulek shares.

In the meat department, Sulek selected tilapia and suggested cooking it with salt, pepper and lemon. He also bought steaks and ground beef.

"A couple of ribeye steaks would be perfect. I don't limit myself to lean cuts of meat anymore, but I kind of want to pick ones that don't have massive fatty cuts."

In an effort to meet his daily protein needs, Sulek stopped for sardines.

"I just have to pick which ones I like the best. My favorite is the Mediterranean King Oscar."

Sam Sulek may have many critics, but he has also won the support of countless people. Among them is bodybuilding legend Lee Priest, who has defended him several times. In addition, his potential in professional bodybuilding has been recognized by five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead. Bumstead went so far as to say he would "take over the world".

Sam Sulek has had the opportunity to train alongside some of the best in the world, including Samson Dauda. They smashed through some intense workouts together and it seems that they have developed quite a good friendship. He also trained alongside bodybuilder Hunter Labrada.

While Sam Sulek's approach may seem unusual to most people, he has developed a system that works for him. His goal is to become a Classic Physique category bodybuilder next year, so fans can't wait to see how Sulek improves his physique.
