Jiří Tkadlčík - how to deadlift | seminar
If we ask people who are at least a little bit familiar with the domestic scene of strength sports who is the strongest Czech, the name Jiří Tkadlčík, who is certainly one of the most famous and most successful domestic strongmen, will certainly come up countless times.
It's no wonder. After all, this "Czech Lion" has not only dominated several European and world championships, but also holds several world records.
In 2019, this member of the Czech Virus team set a new world record for the deadlift in his category up to 105 kg, which is an incredible 406 kg!
Then, late last month in Armenia, where the European Championships were held, he not only came away with the win, but also set a world record for the Zercher squat, which is worth 260 kilograms!
With these results, it is hard to believe that Jirka has been suffering from diabetes since he was three years old and has to inject insulin four times a day. To make matters worse, a year and a half ago he had to deal with herniated discs.
Below we can watch a video that dates back to just before the aforementioned European Championship in Armenia. It shows Jirka's deadlift seminar, interspersed with Zercher squatting. It was here that he set his personal best for this exercise, lifting 255 kilograms, and stated that his goal was to set a new world record. He did that to perfection.
In the video, Jirka explains the deadlift technique perfectly. And as you can see, it bears its fruit, because the participants are really lifting.
