Czech lion Jiri Tkadlcik set a new world record in Ukraine!
Last week was World Championship strongman competitions in Ukraine. There were competitions in individuals, teams and also in deadlift. The Czech Republic also had its representatives at these competitions. In the U105, Jiri Tkadlcik (4th place), Mira Kahanek (15th place) and Petr Pastyrik (12th place) competed in the individual event. Jiri Tkadlcik and Miroslav Kahanek also competed in the deadlift. In the subsequent U105 team competition we, the Czech Republic, had a group of strongmen - Jiri Tkadlcik, Miroslav Kahanek, Petr Pastyrik and the fourth member of our team was not a Czech, but an Australian Tyson Morrissy, whom the boys took as a substitute for the fourth Czech.
World record of Jiri Tkadlcik!
As we have already mentioned at these competitions there was a deadlift competition - DEADLIFT CHAMPIONSHIP U105kg 2019. This competition was dominated by Jiri Tkadlchik and he also set a new world record with an incredible performance of 406kg!

Jiri's comments on social media posts about his world record:
Deadlift 370kg - 391kg - 406kg A lot of you were wondering what attempts I used to reach the world record in u105kg and if I didn't go 406 first. I didn't! A lot of competitors do that, but I need to work my way up to the weight and calm my head down a lot. Of all the attempts I found 370 ironically the hardest, 391 sat like a pig and 406 was earned, but honestly I know I would have given more.
⠀
This day I was just in flow, it fit, my back was made of armor, and because of that I know I'm going for higher weights! I'm looking forward to it!
It's not two golds, but honestly I'm super happy with putting all 406kg on the deadlift and winning the deadlift portion and taking the world record for America. I'm really incredibly happy with that and I'm pretty cool with carrying a potato chip! This is the third time in a row I've been world champion in our deadlift category!!! ⠀
After 406kg it just wasn't easy to put everything in the way I would have done fresh, but that's ok! Last year I prioritized the overall win over the 400kg deadlift, this year I turned it around! Plus, 2nd place overall was cost by my inattention on the second event, where I didn't throw the barrel or the single barrel on the table according to the rules, or rather I didn't put it in the right position, so schoolboy error. But it happens, and I just have to watch it more and celebrate less after the deadlift.
World record in deadlift strongman U105!
Silver for the Czech Republic!
Another great success that you could notice was that our group of four managed to win silver in Ukraine ! Moreover, this team event was not just any team event, as it was the World Team Championships!

The races must have been really tough for the boys... Just by the commentary of Míra Kahánek:
The races were terribly long and in the heat we left the hotel at 9 in the morning and came back at about 1 in the night, before the races there were still photos, videos, interviews, etc. Just Meaam. and when I wanted to help or see the attempts of other guys we didn't even get time to warm up for the next discipline, but that's how races are in Ukraine and who has raced here knows the confusion !!! Please just to be clear, I am not crying here, but just stating how it goes here from crying and excuses are here others..
