Chris Bumstead reveals he has more male admirers than female fans as a bodybuilder

Canadian bodybuilder Chris Bumstead is one of the most popular and successful competitors in all divisions. His impressive physique combined with an engaging social media presence has earned him 18 million followers on Instagram. In a recent interview with Chris Williamson, Bumstead revealed how much attention he gets from women.

Chris Bumstead had a sensational performance at the Mr. Olympia 2022 competition last December. The dominant champion managed to hold off rising Brazilian sensation Ramon Rocha Queiroz and German upstart Urs Kalecinski to retain his title. The win marked his fourth straight Classic Physique Olympia title. After the competition, Bumstead made it clear that he wasn't going to let up anytime soon and would be back for a fifth edition.

In a recent YouTube video by Chris Wiliamson, "Cbum" revealed the ratio of attention he receives from men and women.

"Obviously 90:10 in favor of men," Bumstead said. "I think my stats on Instagram are 91% men following. Anyone who thinks this life will get you girls is more likely to get men."

"There's a certain amount of respect in that. Let's say you start doing something for female attention and you don't end up getting it, but you realize how much you enjoy it, so you keep doing it. Now you're doing it because you actually enjoy it, not because you just want to get the girl. Doing it for yourself makes a little more sense."

"At the moment, when I'm in training, I turn everything down, all notifications are off, I don't look at the comments. I don't really look at anything, and I'd rather it not get into me. Basically, I can always go back to what I said, I also understand that these people don't know me, but obviously certain things still affect me. But then again, if something hits me, it's because of something that's unhealed in me. It goes back to where it still hurts me and not so much to what other people think."
