Chris Bumstead is a four-time Classic Physique Olympia king!

The 58th edition of Olympia, scheduled for 15-18 December 2022, was full of surprises. That was not the case in the Classic Physique division, where Chris Bumstead won his fourth Olympia title. Although the Classic Physique Olympia division is only seven years old, it is becoming one of the most popular divisions at the sport's biggest competition. This division stands out for its aesthetics, symmetry and Golden Era-inspired conditioning.

The three-time Classic Physique Olympia champion enters the 2022 Olympia as the favorite to win four times. However, former Classic Physique Olympia champion Breon Ansley, two-time Classic Physique Olympia runner-up Terrence Ruffin and young bloods Urs Kalecinski and Ramon Rocha Querioz were hot on his heels, waiting for him to slip up so they could take the Olympia throne from him!

Chris didn't get off on the right foot in his preparation for Mr.O 2022. First, he broke off the trainer-client relationship with his brother-in-law Iain Vallier and the three-time Classic Physique champion had to find a new trainer. However, things have worked out well and the Canadian bodybuilder has hired ace coach Hany Rambod for this year's Olympia preparations. Moreover, the 27-year-old Cbum ruptured his left thigh a few weeks before the Olympics. Although the injury was not too serious, Cbum had to undergo therapy to get the shape of his quadriceps femoris muscle back in order.

However, none of these setbacks could stop the Canadian bodybuilder from securing his fourth Classic Physique Olympia title.

Results

Mike Sommerfeld showed great size, muscle balance, symmetry and streaking. He placed fifth at the 2022 Classic Physique Olympia competition.

Ansley placed fourth in his last appearance at Classic Physique Olympia. He finished third at the 2021 Olympia. Fans thank Ansley for all he has done for the division. He will most likely move up to the 212 division next year.

Kalecinski brought great balance to the podium. He has a flowing physique - broad shoulders, small waist and strong legs. He moved up a spot to finish third at the 2022 O. Unfortunately, he will have to put on some more weight in the future.

Terrence Ruffin is one of the best posers in the business, and while posing on stage at the 2022 Olympia competition, he reminded us why. Ruff Diesel knows how to work the stage and show off his physique. He had one of the best X-frames on the Classic Physique stage. However, he fell out of the top five after his second place finish at Mr. O 2021.

Ramon Dino has one of the most balanced and aesthetic physiques on stage. His muscles were full, thick and striated.

Ramon Dino and Cbum were the two contestants in the last call-up in the preliminary round of judging. While Ramon showed great balance, symmetry and conditioning, it wasn't enough for Cbum. The three-time Classic Physique Olympia winner showed great form. He had great shape, symmetry, balance, conditioning and clean, clear lines.
