Arnold Schwarzenegger reduced meat intake by 70% to regulate blood pressure

As one of the busiest men in the world, it's no wonder that Arnold Schwarzenegger is intensely interested in optimizing performance and longevity. After an illustrious career full of peak performances, Schwarzenegger switched to a nutrition plan that would allow him to live a better life. For more than six years, the "Austrian Oak" has been eating a predominantly plant-based diet.

Schwarzenegger sticks to a plant-based diet mainly because of his blood pressure and cholesterol. He has overcome several heart surgeries and other interventions during his lifetime, which is why a healthy lifestyle is his number one priority.

Most of us think that vegetable protein is not good enough and that this type of diet is detrimental to our standard of living. However, we have already debunked these myths several times in our articles and have shown that a plant-based diet is not bad, as long as you follow certain principles that are important. And just recently in his newsletter Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote about this topic:

"Doctors have advised me to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. And that's why I've cut down 70% of my meat intake once a month, maybe I make a steak at home and we watch UFC fights, somehow that fits with all the meat, which is just the other 30%."
