Big Summer Games 2019 - crossfit competition report!

The second race of this year from the organizer of the Bcross Challenge. The two-day open-air race using the adjacent swimming pool took place 17-18.8.2019

A total of 200 competitors competed in 6 categories. The start line was really packed and dare we say it was the best filled race as far as elite athletes are concerned.

Three athletes from the 2019 CrossFit Games participated in our competitions. Thanks to Sona Karásková, David Stroupek and Erik Tóth for participating in our games and raising the overall level. It was a motivation for all competitors.

For the second time at Náplavka in České Budějovice, which is a beautiful place in the centre of the action for such a race.

This year was probably the most challenging for the organizing team. It is a bit harder to do everything on a concrete surface with no electricity or drinking water.

For the first time this year we collaborated with the Police of the Czech Republic, where we organized our own games for them, which took place on 16.8.2019 and were considered as the start of the sports weekend.

POLICE GAMES 2019 #2

15 teams of three took part in the competition and competed in four events. There were, for example, city officers from Chomutov, as well as police intervention units or thePresidential Protection Unit and a representative of the military police.

This involved a whole series of preparations and the earlier construction of the entire arena.

Everything went smoothly despite an hour break due to rain. Everyone enjoyed the first outdoor games and are already looking forward and preparing for the next one.

We would like to make this a tradition and always before our games, hold an actual competition for the troops.

Link to the report from Friday's day here.

Thank you so much to David Stiefel with whom I set everything up and without whom the 2019 Police Games would never have happened.

BIG SUMMER GAMES! 17-18.8.2019

You can see from the photo that the cast was really awesome. We told the competitors the discipline at the pool three days in advance, and saved the rest for the last day before the competition.

The creator of the workouts and the main referee is none other than Petr Schlegel, who is inseparable from our competitions.

The following workouts were waiting for the individuals. Each day there were three disciplines on the program.

The teams, consisting of two boys and one girl in the sport category, had the following WODs.

This year we had our own custom design made for the race itself to suit all our requirements. This allowed us to use the rope climb, the handles in the handstand and the musleup rings themselves during the race. A big thank you to MD Concept here.
This is a great asset and empowerment that will help us a lot going into future races. The arena was two platforms wider and again a little smaller in length than last year. The superbly prepared spectator stand was always filled and space rarely became available.

The start of the games took place at the outdoor swimming pool, which is a short walk from the racing arena on Náplavka. Along with swimming, the competitors were waiting for the rowing simulator. This workout was divided into two results.
The competitor had to submit the best result in both parts. After rowing 1500m for girls 1200m was timed and followed by 250/200m swim, which was the second result.
Roma Nejedlý, Miloš Pelikán and Daniela Maleňáková from the girls category were the best.
In the elite category Renato Concolino and Soňa Karásková jumped right to the first place. Fanda Heribán won the masters.

The team category had this workout in the form of a relay and included as the 4th WOD on Sunday. Hradecky team CF Steel Wings won the first place here.

The pool was followed by a move to the arena.

The second workout was a combination of running and working with your own weight. The elite and masters categories had added "popular" devilpressions.

The boys finished with 10 musclepipes on the trapeze and the girls with chest pull-ups CH2B

The team category started with the first workout in the arena. The 24/16kg kettlebell run was quite a struggle for some, but everyone made it.
Teamwork was important for the kettlebell swings where they had to perform 30 synchronised reps. This was followed by two more rounds.

The GETUP team from Pilsen did the best.

The last discipline of the day was waiting for the individuals. The categories had a different composition of disciplines, now came the more difficult weightlifting.

Workout divided into two parts. A combination of maximum strength and harder gymnastics.
Sport - had to find max power on C&J, from the ground overhead, within 4 minutes. The second part was push-ups in a standing cobinance with a rope climb, where they rode the max number of rounds in 5 minutes according to the given reps.
Lukas Kobza and Jiri Fojt lifted 117,5 kg. The girls were not behind and the same 75kg was lifted by Marie Ostrá and Daniela Maleňáková.
In the second part Marin Dolánský and Lucka Drahošová were the best prepared.

The elite had a different composition. The first part combined heavier barbell 110kg, masters 90 and elite girls 75kg with rope climb. Where on each exercise there was one repetition and the competitor had to do as many rounds as possible in 4 minutes.
For the second part they were given 30s to rest followed by two minutes max strict push-ups in a deficit rack.

David Stroupek dominated the first part by 1 point ahead of Michal Micka. The second part was sovereignly won by Filip Valouch, who gave no one a chance and won with the result of 27 strict HSPU.

In the elite girls we saw a beautiful duel, where Sonia Karaskova won the first part by 1 point, in the second part by 2 points before Patricia Jezkova.

In the master category the best was Fanda Heribán, who won the first part and deservedly dominated the Saturday day. The second part was blown away by Jakub Šula, who gave 16 strict reps.
Saturday's day was over for the individual category.

The competitors were motivated by local DJs with their tracks from the mixer.
Saturday belonged to Alex Neires and on Sunday DJ Michal Pelikán rocked the house.

The last two workouts were waiting for the teams.

The second test workout was also on the C&J max, where the highest weight lifted by all team members was counted. In the second part, there was only one attempt for everyone on the maximum number of CH2B chest pulls, where the total was again added up.

Bubalus team from Prague had a lot of practice. They lifted a total of 327,5kg and performed 94 reps on the trapeze. This performance deservedly brought them the first place.

In the third and last workout of the Saturday, the teams had only the jump rope and the medicimbal to do.

It was again done as a relay and each competitor had to do a total of 60 DUs and 60 Wallball in two rounds.

First place went to the team Trouble Unders from Brno.

Sunday's day started off for the teams at the swimming pool, which we went through together with the first workout of the individuals.

There were only two workouts left for the sport category so the competitors had to give it their all. The performances were really great, thanks to the fans who were constantly cheering the competitors on.

The 4th WOD for the sport category was for 8 minutes where they had to go all out. The combination of jump rope, wallball and box jumps gave everyone a great warm up. Masters with elite had a heavier 100/85/70kg barbell again where they had to go 5 rounds in a 10 min time limit.
50 double jumps, three overhead lunges and finish the round with 10 English overhead lunges.

The fifth workout for the teams was very nutritious.

For the whole 8 minutes one of the team members had to ride the Ski simulator, they could take turns freely. The other team members had to go synchro amrap 30x DB snatch and 30 DB lunges.

So far, I'm the only one who used the simulators at the race. We also had the trainers ready for the next workout for the individuals.

Unfortunately, despite the beautiful weather and great heat, the displays decided to take a break. It's only a machine and we opted for the rowing machine as a quick alternative.

The sport category had the 5th wod divided into two parts.
The first one was modified to change the trainer. Emom stayed, just increased to 2 minutes. The athletes started on a single bar that they lifted overhead, after completing 16 reps they rode the rower. Three two-minute rounds in total.

Master and elite had the rower and KTB thruster or squat with overhead expression. The barbells weighed 24 for the guys and 16 for the girls.

Only teams and elite with master in individuals went to the last discipline.

Workout No.6 HERO called SVATOVÁCLAVSKÝ, which appeared at our games last year. It is a memory of our soldiers from Tabor who gave their lives last year on the mission in Afghanistan added Zdeněk Koza from 42. Zdendzen Koza of the Mechanized Battalion in Tabor.
The workout had to appear on our plant one more time in order for an official application to be written and sent to America for approval.

Thanks to everyone especially to Zdenek who organizes everything and for creating this memory and annual commemoration with this workout.

5 RND | TC 10min
10x THRUSTER 42,5|30kg
10x BURPEE

Everything is done in synchronous execution.

You can try this workout or any other workout at your gym. You can then compare the result with our leaderboard. The Hero wod was won by the Front GYM team who managed to do it in under six minutes, 5:59 to be exact.

In the last workout, the elites with the masters category also went.

They hung the rings on the trapeze, set up the crates, KTB 24 and 16kg in the arena and it was on!

Nothing was decided and therefore everyone had to give their best performance. It was really a beautiful spectacle. The elite athletes were flying around the rings and playing with the ktb like nothing.

We saw a great battle as a total of 11 athletes were within four reps. Petr Spacek deserved this workout by a margin of only one bud.

Fanda Heribán enjoyed this workout and won it easily by 20 reps. From the girls this workout belonged to P.Ježková.

Saturday night also included the filming of another episode of Swaglift's STRENGTH WARS.
This war should be released on 2.9. People could see how such filming is done.

Crossfit guy Honza Krasinský and his girlfriend and Mr.Fashion Jakub Enžl came to see the races.

Sunday afternoon was filled by Czech pro strongman Jirka Vytiska, who showed the audience a loglift with car deadlift, where he had a car full of people.

Thank you all very much for a great weekend. To all partners for their support. To the fans for the incredible cheering of the competitors!

Also to the guys from Donut with You and Hrancle with You who looked after us and prepared great treats.

Erebos drink and Amino fresh for providing drinks for the racers. To the Financial Managers, Cemix, JV Windows and Stong Energy for their financial support. Workout.eu for the t-shirts for the crew and the opportunity to try on new shoes during the race + great booth at the event.
Thanks also for displaying the beautiful mustangs from the guys at mustangemcb and Mach Motors.

And last but not least to KULTUISTIKA.COM who were at the event in person and everyone could taste the delicious butters from lifelike or try the new proteins and bcaa + prizes for the racers.

Once again we would like to thank everyone very much. We know that this is not a small event anymore and it is necessary to have everything perfectly prepared. We are very sorry for the small delay in the schedule, but we know where the mistake was and what to improve in the future.

In hindsight we rate the games positively, despite all the complications it went well and we hope you enjoyed the biggest games of the year.

There were 50 volunteers on set, which made everything run as it should. I would like to thank them very much. Finding referees who are fearless and knowledgeable in the field is not easy in such numbers. Crew for a great job on the workouts. To the medics, to the girls behind the bar and at the results.

Also to the head judge and creator of the workouts, Pete Schlegel. Martin Balik for great consultation, from the preparation of the games to the actual moderation and making sure everything ran as it should. Kuba Tlapak for excellent work with the referees.

It's always better when someone other than the organizer and the head of it all judges the event.

I still have mixed feelings about the difficulty of the whole event. I'm glad for the reports we get from people, it's the only way we can get better.

See you in winter 14.12. at the next WINTER CLASSIC competitions, with regards Vasek Mráz.
