Product description Country Life Organic almonds

Almonds are well known and very popular in our country. They have a typical mild sweet taste, so they can be eaten alone. But you can also use them to prepare sweet treats and exotic specialities. Almonds are also suitable for making homemade almond milk. Organic.

Uses:

  • a snack - almonds are delicious on their own, you can serve them with a hot drink when you have visitors.
  • peeled - just steam the almonds briefly in a pot and the skin comes off beautifully, then you can use the peeled almonds to make almond milk or roast them in a pan
  • baking - you can add the crushed almonds to the batter to give it a subtle nutty flavour, whole almonds are delicious in strudels, for example
  • sweets - you can coat almonds in melted chocolate, decorate baked sweets with them, or crush them to make almond balls with, for example, mashed dates, carob and coconut
  • smoothies - don't be afraid to add almonds when making your favourite smoothie
  • Moroccan Amlou spread - mix fully ground almonds with argan oil, flavour with honey
  • Couscous - chop almonds and add to sweet and savoury couscous
  • Turrón - a Spanish Christmas dessert prepared by adding the peeled ground almonds to a saucepan with the lemon zest, where you already have melted honey and sugar, finally mix the egg whites beaten to a stiff froth with the mixture and pour everything on a baking sheet, let it set (300 g almonds, 100 g sugar, 250 g honey)

The almond is actually the kernel of the stone of the almond fruit, which is native to North Africa and West Asia. Today it is mainly grown in Europe in subtropical areas. It grows up to 5 metres high and produces a beautiful pink flower. It is related to apricots and peaches. When you crack open an apricot stone, you will find a seed that looks like an almond and can even be eaten. One tree can produce up to 60 kg of almonds.

Almonds are not only used as food, they are also used in the cosmetics industry. They are extracted into cold-pressed oil, which is then added to cosmetic products such as creams. In the confectionery industry, almonds are not only used for decorating, but are also used to make the typical marzipan.

Organic food always undergoes a system of checks and certification to ensure its quality and enable it to carry the label. Their organic quality is particularly appreciated by people interested in organic farming and sustainable farming systems.
