Turn your dreams into reality!
I'm sure you all know someone who keeps starting to lose weight, starting to exercise, starting this, starting that, and when they don't see results quickly, they give up. Or maybe it happens to you too that something doesn't go your way and you wonder whether to keep going or give up on it too. How to start and not stop anymore, I probably can't advise you, because it depends only on your will, but I will try to give you some tips to find the right way.
It doesn't really matter more or less what you want to change. Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to gain muscle? Do you want to change something in your life? Do it. Starting to want to change is the beginning of everything. That first step is the hardest, but it's worth it.

1/ Set a realistic goal
They say to always have big goals because that's the only way you'll be successful. Yes, you definitely need to have big goals, but they need to be realistic! A lot of people set a goal that they are unable to achieve because they just can't. Set a realistic goal, put a time frame on it somehow, and don't forget to think about how to achieve it. Plan, write, seek information. Prepare yourself for the fact that it will take time and you will have to make sacrifices. If you really want something, give it your all and work to make it happen.
2/ Take the first step
So we've already set the goal, but we need to get started. Another place where people fail is right away when they have to start. You want to eat healthy, but you don't start until Monday, because after all, you're going to Grandma's for sirloin steak and pies on the weekend. You want to start exercising, but you're afraid you're going to get a bad look at the gym. You're afraid to take the first step because you're just used to what's there now. Stop putting it off, you don't have to wait for any Mondays, you don't have to start from the first, you don't have to start when it's raining and dry. Don't look for reasons why it shouldn't work.
You wanted a change, didn't you? So stop worrying, get off your ass and start living the life you dream of. Overcoming fear is sometimes hard, but believe me, it's worth it and many times you'll find that there was nothing to be afraid of in the first place. The best things are always on the other side of your fear, that's just the way it is.
3/ don't make it unnecessarily harder than it has to be
With the way the internet is overloaded with information today, it's hard for a lot of people to evaluate what's important and what's not. Then when they change their diet, they usually suddenly cut back on all the foods they used to like, set their intake unnecessarily low, and still with food they don't even like properly because they read on the internet that they can't eat baked goods, can't eat carbs, can't eat egg yolks, and I don't know how many other things. They last a week and go back to their original regime because they can't handle that. So before you start anything, think about how to do it and don't be afraid to ask for advice from an expert as well, rather than taking every stupid thing you read somewhere. Build a positive attitude towards new things from the start. Do it in a way that you enjoy. Don't like the gym? That's okay, find a movement you love. Learn to love the fact that you have to spend a little time in the kitchen every day preparing the next day's food, because your body will return the favor.
4/ Count on obstacles
There is a path to every goal, each one differently long and thorny. Expect that things won't always go according to plan. It happens that muscle gains are not what you expected, or that you don't lose weight as fast as you wish. But that's no reason to give up and say you can't. If it's not working, change the path, not the destination! Take a break, change your workout, find a sparring partner, switch parts, try a different gym... Sometimes all it takes is a really small thing and your workouts start to make a lot more sense and have an effect. Same with food. Are you not losing weight the way you imagine? Nothing is right away! How long have you been gaining weight? Two, three years or longer? Why do you think you can get rid of them in a month? It doesn't work that way, just hang in there! Stay optimistic. You can't have everything right away, but if you work on yourself, the results will come. Sooner or later, they will come.
5/ Learn to praise yourself
Take a little look back from time to time. Maybe measure yourself, compare photos, in short, look at what you've already done. It's especially great when you're going through a crisis. Look at what you've done, you're not going to give up now. Obstacles are not a wall you can't cross, keep working! Learn to reward yourself for success. When you make a significant step, praise yourself! For those big accomplishments, maybe buy yourself a new pair of workout shoes, get a massage, or treat yourself to something good. Just make yourself happy, but of course don't overdo it.
6/ Focus on yourself
Occasionally you may read a sigh of how someone is judged by their surroundings for what they do. Yes, if you've been eating out at work for x number of years by going to restaurants and eating takeaway pizza, then it will be strange to see you with a box of self-made food. But it doesn't matter, does it? You're doing it for yourself and you're not forcing anyone else to do it. If your surroundings discourage you from doing what you're doing, ignore it. What matters is what you want. You don't feel good in your body, so you just work on it? Have you decided to eat healthier? Go to the gym after work rather than have a beer with your colleagues? So? It's your business, you can't expect everyone to have the same goals as you, that would be so boring. Most normal people will understand this and support you, but the bottom line is up to you. You're doing this for yourself, no one else. It's great to have support, but you always have to fight for the outcome yourself.
7/ Hang in there
Once you start, don't give up, keep pushing the boundary somewhere else.
Some people take longer to achieve their goals, others go faster. Speed doesn't matter at all. It's about doing what you enjoy. If you want a happy life, it will take a lot of hard work, but it will all come back to you. It's only by working on your dreams and sticking with it that you'll actually get there. There are no easy paths or shortcuts. Life is full of pitfalls and obstacles, but you can't give up when things don't go your way, it's the only way to achieve what you dream of. And it really doesn't matter if it's a worked out body, losing a few pounds, or maybe a job change. If you're clear on what you want, build a path and go for it. Have fun with what you're doing, be patient and go for it.
