What movement should I choose if I want to start losing weight properly? We'll give you the best tips!
A question we hear very often is: "What movement or activity is best for me to lose weight as quickly as possible?" Going to a gym where I don't really like it and find the whole workout to be off-track is silly... If I hate the gym and can't stand going for two weeks, it's better for me to choose an activity I prefer (e.g. running) and try to do that regularly and with gusto. However, can we really say that e.g. running is as effective for fat burning as e.g. strength training?
So in today's article we will focus on some sports and sports activities. We will tell you which ones are the most suitable in terms of fat burning and which ones we can choose from.
What can we choose from?
Nowadays, we have a really big choice of different sports activities to choose from. From running, weight training, aerobics, zumba, taeba, yoga, jumping, s'hbam, TRX, spinning, H.E.A.T., HIIT, piloxing, spinning, hooping, fiveriders, calisthenics, street workout... Therefore, everyone will surely choose from what attracts and fulfills them.
What movement is best
Leaving aside all subjective opinions for now, the answer is simple - strength training! And not only for men, but especially for women! Due to evolution, our bodies have changed a lot. Both women and men do much less physical work than they used to, and so their level of active mass decreases, which limits the body's ability to burn fat tissue.
Should I be afraid of lifting weights?
Most women think that once they lift a barbell, their ramen-like physique will change and they'll start talking like a truck driver... This is the biggest myth of the sport... Unless one "happens" to inherit literally "godlike" genetics, falls ass over heels on a needle full of oil every day while lifting 2x the weight of her husband/boyfriend, you really don't have to worry about getting muscular overnight. In fact, the odds are about the same as you becoming a professional rally driver while driving a car to Coop..

Why is strength training best?
Strength training offers a lot of really great benefits! We've tried to summarise the most important ones in a few points!
- IMMUNITY - Improves our immune system.
- FAT - Delivers the fastest results in fat reduction.
- PSYCHIC - Directly affects our psyche, thinking and mood
- BODY SHAPE - Guarantees the most intense change in the "curves" of our body.
- METABOLISM - Faster burning and long term acceleration of metabolism.
- BODY POSTURE - There will be better posture (firming, HSS comparison)
- HEALTH - Improves our health (HDL vs LDL, blood pressure, cardiovascular issues, CNS...)
- HORMONES - Positively affects hormone levels
- VITALITY - Increases fitness, strength and endurance.
- SEX - Improves sex life - more libido, more intense hormonal response
The most common problems during sports activities
Imbalances
This problem can best be imagined on activities that are very often performed in summer. Skating, running, or even some of those mountain hikes. We think about how sensational our start is and how our fat reduction is not going great, but we should remember that during these activities we are mainly stressing the lower limbs, therefore some muscles, muscle parts or even joints can be overloaded!
Adaptivity
If you've been exercising for a while, you may have heard that it's a good idea to change your workout from time to time. Why? Our body is a very clever mechanism that tries to adapt to all the changes that come into our lives. Exercise (sport activity) is one such change... However, if we train properly in the same way - same weights, same repetitions, same intensity, our body will strengthen itself for this process and soon it will know that it can handle this activity without much problem and so there is no threat coming up to make it stronger - we will have no or minimal results!

What does this mean in practice?
Let's put some of that practice into theory. If I do a certain type of exercise, say for example running, every day at the same time, intensity, we run the same distance over the same terrain, our body will get used to this type of load and will need less and lessenergy (calories) to perform this process. If I incorporate different distances and intensities into my training our body will be constantly shocked and not get used to it as quickly.
A great advantage is just a gym or some kind of gym where we can create countless different types of exercises with different weights and intensities with the equipment. We can help ourselves with a simple "trick" which is interval training - known as HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). HIIT is very effective in terms of fat burning and is definitely worth a try! By the way, we can convert any movement into HIIT - absolutely no exceptions, from running, to swimming, to cycling,...
What to take away from the article?
Movement, to achieve your dream physique (fat reduction), is only one piece of the mosaic -diet, recovery and lifestyle are other points that need to be given the same emphasis as just training. If you decide to opt for strength training, it's not a bad idea to tell someone more experienced, or even a trainer, about putting together a workout.
