Brutal leg training by Hunter Labrada
Last week, we showed you the form of Hunter Labrada, son of the legendary Lee Labrada, who posed one month after the 2021 Olympia, where he finished in a great fourth place and qualified automatically for the next edition. That's why Hunter is not idle and is preparing for next year in style. He's been posting all sorts of workouts on his Instagram, and today we're taking a look at one of them.
This time, Hunter took off his high school leg strength and conditioning workout. He described the hard work himself in the gym as an awesome quadriceps workout. Despite the hard workout, his joints felt good and showed no signs of overuse. He rated the leg pump as if it was from another world, however, judge for yourself in the photos below.
A detailed breakdown of the entire workout, which includes sets, reps and even tempo and weights, can be found below.
- A1 - Standing calf raise - 2 x 12 - 15 second set is a triple drop
- B1 - Adductor machine 2 x 10 - 12
- C1 - Leg extension for blood flow/warm up (before kicking legs for blood flow/warm up) 3 x 20 very shy of maximum effort
- D1 - Reverse band smith squat (squats in multipress with resistance bands) 1 x 10 - 12 last session I hit 495lbs x 16, today was 545lbs x 12
- E1 - Leg extension (before leg kicks) 2 x 12 - 15 (second set is a drop set)
