Protein Snickers, Twix and Bounty
5 minut čtení
Who doesn't know the most popular Snickers, Twix and Bounty chocolate bars? They taste great, but their ingredients don't correspond well with a healthy lifestyle. We'll teach you how to make a healthy version with an extra serving of protein and compare it to the ingredients and values of store-bought bars, so you have all the more reason to make them at home.
Snickers
A bar for all those who love the combination of chocolate, peanuts and caramel.
Ingredients for 6 bars
Base:
- 1 cup of vanilla whey protein
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup, honey or other natural sweetener to sweeten
- 3 tablespoons (almond) milk
Caramel:
- 65 g soft dates (pre-soaked overnight)
- 1/3 cup finely chopped peanuts
Topping:
- 40 g of high-percentage chocolate without added sugar
Procedure
Mix the vanilla protein, 2 tbsp peanut butter, sweetener and almond milk in a bowl. Shape the dough into 8 bars and spread them on a tray. Blend the softened dates and then stir in the finely chopped peanuts. Spread this mixture over the bars. Melt the chocolate in a water bath and pour it over the bars (if the glaze is too thick, you can thin it with a little coconut oil). Put the finished bars in the freezer for about 25 minutes to set, then serve.

Twix
A delicious crunchy bar with caramel covered in chocolate.
Ingredients for 6 bars
Base:
- 1/4 cup vanilla whey protein
- 1/4 cup ground almonds
- 1/8 cup rice flour
- 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1/8 cup coconut sugar or other natural sweetener to sweeten
- 1/2 cup (almond) milk
- a few drops of vanilla flavoring
Caramel:
- 1 teaspoon vanilla whey protein
- 2 large medjool dates
- 1 tablespoon almond milk
- 2 tablespoons cashew butter
Topping:
- 40 g of high quality chocolate with no added sugar
Procedure
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a small baking tray with baking paper. Place all the ingredients for the base in a blender and blend until perfectly combined. If the batter is too stiff, a little extra milk can be added. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and bake at 160°C for 15 - 18 minutes, until the base is well cooked through. Then remove the baking dish from the oven and leave to cool.
Next, mix together all the ingredients for the caramel. Cut the cooled base into 8 equal sized bars and coat each one with a layer of caramel. Melt the chocolate in a water bath and pour it over the bars (if the glaze is too thick, you can thin it with a little coconut oil). Put the finished bars in the freezer for about 25 minutes to set, then serve.
