"One goal still stands and that is the magic 180 on the loglift! " Interview with Honza Krasinski
Hey, Honzo. You took part in the Winter Classic crossfit competition in České Budějovice before Christmas, what made you do it?
Hello everyone, what made me do it? Pavlis and Venca signed me up and it was done (laughs), anyway I like challenges and I would never back down.... Plus Vasek Mraz is a great person who is pushing the sport and overall mega events here in our country and I think he deserves maximum support.
Did you dedicate any special preparation to the races?
At one training session a week before the race I tried some strength series + air bike and paddle to know roughly what to expect.
Have you ever done any CrossFit style workouts before?
Probably never CrossFit style, and the last time I was active in English was in high school.
With what ambitions did you go into the race?
I knew that the first workout would be a strength workout, but I didn't know what it would be like, so I thought, "We have to win this and then go home." (laughs)
Did you respect the competition, or did you go to enjoy the race and not think about the result?
I always have respect when I go to races, no matter what they are, and there were some of the best Czech crossfitters on the start list! I was going to enjoy it, make a video, take the sport a step further.

How did the elite athletes you competed with affect you?
They accepted me immediately, I felt great. PS : even crossfitters don't like butterflies (laughs).
Will you ever try crossfit racing again, or have you given up on crossfit?
I say challenge it's great, but to race I would have to really, really change my workouts and overall style of exercise and that's not a thing right now because it would hinder my current goals.
What did you do best at the races and what was a nightmare for you?
I can't say best or worst, it was hell overall and I only did the first workout.
Let's move on to strongman now - what are your plans for the 2022 season?
One goal still stands and that's the magic 180 on the loglift.... Until then, I'm working on a new Shop and I'm not sure exactly what competitions I'll be participating in, but I'm hoping for a long and great season!
Will you break the national log lift record this year, which is still held by Jirka Vytiska?
We'll see, the log lift is probably the most challenging exercise and has a lot of variables ... so the more races I do, the more chances I have to break it. Until now it's been one attempt a year and that's not enough.
How often do you train log lift? And do you give it any special preparation?
Now I didn't train loglift at all since Golcak until Christmas to get the drive and desire for it again.
What do you think about the way Jirka Vytiska was tying the competitors at last year's championship when nobody broke his record?
Everyone thinks their own thing, we've sorted it out and it doesn't change my motivation.
Do you periodize your training during the year?
Of course, my trainings throughout the year are set by Radomil Vasik, who adjusts them according to my races, goals and shooting. Mostly I think this question is for a separate conversation.
What style do you currently train with?
For example, my deadlift training looks like this at the moment:
Classic deadlift 3-5series (each week the number of reps changes. And RPE)
Supplement deadlifts according to current cycle, right now currently deficit snatch deadlift + dimmel deadlift
Burying on expander
Shifts
Finally, I have a variation of different exercises for core and momentum
Honza, thank you so much for the interview. Have a great day and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the interview and good luck to everyone.
