New York Pro 2020 - the winner is the great Iain Valliere
This year's New York Pro, held under the banner of Jim Manion's IFBB Professional League, is sure to go down in history! Due to the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions adopted by the US government against its spread, this year's event has not only been rescheduled, as it was originally scheduled to take place in May, but has even changed its venue! It has moved from New York to Florida!
The competition took place on Saturday, September 5, and both male bodybuilding categories were battling it out for direct entry into this year's Olympia Weekend, which will take place from December 16-20.
Bodybuilding men open
The heavyweight competition saw 19 outstanding competitors on the podium! From the very beginning it was clear that the competition is really great, and the fight will be not only for the victory, but even for a place in the Top 10!
If more competitors could qualify for the Olympia Weekend from this event, like they will for the Europa Pro Championships in October, no one could be mad!
It is a great pity then that no Europeans were able to compete due to strict restrictions! It would have been interesting to see how our fighters Milan Šádek, Slavoj Bednář, Lukáš Osladil or Pavel Beran, who in the early days of their preparations planned to compete in this event, would have done.
Taking into account the above, it is a miracle that Hassan Mostafa and Sulaiman Altarkait from Kuwait were able to come to the USA.
The semi-final of the competition itself suggested that the pair of Jonathan DeLarosa and Iain Valliere were fighting for the triumph, and thus also for the direct qualification to Mr. Olympia 2020, based on the judges' evaluation. The other places were to be taken by Patrick Moore, Max Charles, Luis Rodriguez or Hassan Mostafa.
However, all of them were such equal opponents that few people could guess their exact position.

Iain Valliere won the second victory of his professional career as expected. The first one he scored in 2018 at the Bigman Weekend Pro, where the then professional newcomer, Slovak bodybuilder Igor Illés, finished a close second.
Iain made his second appearance in Tampa this year, competing here a month ago at the Wings of Strength Tampa Pro 2020, where he was only undefeated against the phenomenal Hunter Labrada.
In Tampa, Iain was granite-hard and perfectly sculpted, but he was too flat, with poorly chosen skin conditioning, which combined with lackluster posing quite possibly cost him the win.
This time, however, he left nothing to chance, and added full and round muscles to the hardness and perfect sculpting. Moreover, when he showed a very successful posing, which he worked on under the guidance of the renowned Kenny Wallach, nothing prevented him from returning to Canada as a winner!
Second place went to Luis Rodriguez. He excelled especially in the side and back poses. Overall, his upper body looked very good, and if it wasn't for his weaker lower legs, he would have looked very complex and elegant.
In the end, Jonathan DeLarosa had to settle for third place, as he was much more complex than Luis, but lacked final tightness.
Fourth went to Hassan Mostafa, who offered clearly the most powerful and sculpted thighs of the entire starting field! If he can work on his overall impression, especially his rear stance presentation, his rivals will have a hell of a time!

Max Charles is the last one to make it into the top 5. He showed his lifetime form at the beginning of the season at the 2020 Arnold Classic, and he came very close to it here. Considering the fact that Max had to prepare at home due to coronary artery disease, we have to give him a big hats off!
Up to sixth place was Patrick Moore, who mesmerized many with his very attractive physique at Mr. Olympia 2019. He did better than if at this year's Arnold Classic, where he took 10th place, and even offered more muscle mass, but still remains behind expectations.
Only Antoine Vaillant, who was also expected to do more, had to settle for seventh place. While he offered an excellent lower half of the body, the upper half lagged behind and looked too flat.

Men's bodybuilding up to 212 pounds
The under 212 pound division featured a more intimate and lower quality cast than was the case among the heavyweights. Of the twelve-man starting field, the pair of Dectric Lewis and Jason Lowe impressed the judges the most, battling for the win from the very beginning and even getting the opportunity to present themselves in a separate invocation.

In the end, Dectric Lewis deservedly took his first victory among the professionals, looking much more powerful than his opponent. In addition, he presented himself with nice shapes and symmetrical figure.
Five weeks ago, he had already made an appearance in Tampa, when he was only unbeaten by George Peterson at the Wings of Strength Tampa Pro 2020.
Second place went to Jason Lowe, who, like Lewis, competed at the Wings of Strength Tampa Pro 2020, where he finished only 11th! This time, however, he came to Tampa with improved form, and in a weaker starting field, it was enough to give him a great second place.
Third place, and thus a lifetime result, went to Errol Moore. His strengths are a narrow waist and a very pleasing front stance.
Fourth place this time was earned from the judges by Adam Young, who took 6th place at the Wings of Strength Tampa Pro 2020. Once again, he was too flat to even think about a better result.
Derik Oslan rounded out the top 5, taking a very good 3rd place at the Wings of Strength Tampa Pro 2020. Although this fighter offers very decent volume and physique, he suffered from a lack of final tightness as he did not offer the necessary sharpness and hardness.
Even so, he need not despair as he leads the qualifying rankings for this year's Olympia 212 Showdown thanks to the points he earned.
