My first bikini fitness competition - Kristýna Kubíčková
I spent the beginning of autumn preparing for my very first competition - Promin natural cup, which took place on 8.10.2016 in Brno. After the competition I received a lot of positive reactions, including various questions, which I would like to answer in this article by briefly summarizing the whole preparation.

I decided to give it a try spontaneously, I had been doing crossfit for almost a year, during which I gained some muscles. I just thought I would work out in the gym on the pulleys, modify my diet slightly and be ready. I put myself in the hands of Robert Humpál, who has been training for a long time and is a co-founder and coach in the Supertrener.cz project, where he will create the perfect diet online tailored to your goals, ideas and after our first meeting I started to understand that it won't be that fun. It wasn't about the difficulty of the workouts, I was used to training almost every day before and I think that anyone who has ever tried at least one challenging crossfit wod will admit that this type of workouts will really give you a hard time. Changing my diet wasn't a problem either, and after the first few weeks of constantly looking at the kitchen scale in confusion and calculating how many portions I needed to box up for the next day, I found my regimen. I knew how much of what to buy, that if I spent that day away from home I had to have food with me and at the appropriate time to eat it, when to take what supplements.

The main problem was the so-called body symmetry, which is one of the most evaluated criteria in bikini fitness and in any other category of this sport. I had muscles, but they were not developed on all parts of the body so that it would give a harmonious whole. In my case, we struggled mainly with the disparity in my lower and upper body. My trainer put me on a 6 times a week workout and a strict diet, as we had only 6 weeks to prepare from our first meeting. My initial enthusiasm quickly waned when I arrived at the gym and was about to start a workout I had never tried before. I didn't know which machine was used for what, I didn't know how to breathe properly, or feel the muscle I was currently exercising. Combined with a diet I wasn't used to, it resulted in fatigue, poor concentration for workouts. But I told myself that if I was going to do it, I was going to finish it. I went to the workouts honestly, ate as instructed.
After three weeks I started to see results, my body was changing day by day, the workouts were no longer a necessity for me, but I looked forward to every single one. At the gym, I was bold and cool, physically I felt fit and well despite the diet. I also owe all of this to the great sparring partner I had. Some four weeks after starting all this, my body had changed beyond recognition. I gained muscle on my upper body, my waistline visually narrowed and muscles started to emerge. I admit that this was the ultimate "kicker" for me, forcing me to work out even harder.

My fast progress and strong will was noticed by my trainer Robert and in cooperation of the online magazine and e-shop Kulturistika.com they offered me to work with them and I became a member of their Supertrener.cz team (#supertrenerczteam). I received the best care and advice from Supertrener.cz and the best supplements from the e-shop Kulturistika.com.
I am grateful for the individual approach of Robert, who did not put me on supercompensation, because he decided that I am exhausted enough and there is no need to torment me. In the last week before the competition, I trained in two phases and dealt with rather pleasant things like swimsuits and presentation (it turns out that "getting up there", as I called it before, is not easy at all and posing is one of the things I will have to work on a lot in the future). There was a slight nervousness on the day of the competition, but Coach Robert was by my side the whole day, keeping an eye on me. And how did it turn out?

I didn't make it to the finals, which was unfortunate because I definitely had the form. But I know from crossfit that what the judge (referee) says is sacred :-) so I took it as it came. I know I have weaknesses especially in my presentation, which I will have to work on a lot in the future. I also know which muscle areas I want to improve in the future. I can't say that I regret anything. Preparing for the competition didn't take anything away from me, on the contrary, it gave me new opportunities for cooperation, contacts, discipline and most importantly new motivation. Bodybuilding.com and Supertrenr.cz believe in me, even though I didn't win and I want to prove them right. I want to participate in another competition in the spring and I will do everything I can to make my form better than the others.
If you would like to meet me, I train regularly at Heaven Gym, which is a private gym with a family atmosphere in Galeria Dvořák right on the square in České Budějovice. I would love to see you!
