"If you gain too much weight too fast, you destroy your symmetry," says Frank Zane

One of the most famous bodybuilders in the world, Frank Zane, who is one of the best bodybuilders in history and is even inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame, celebrated his 80th birthday last year. Frank has won the Mr. Olympia title 3 times (1977 to 1979) and back then his physique was one of the most aesthetically pleasing to be found on the stage. Frank was born during World War II in Pennsylvania on June 28, 1942 and was introduced to exercise in his teens after reading a weightlifting magazine. From that moment on, exercise became his love for life.

During his storied career, Zane even managed to beat Arnold Schwarzenegger at the 1968 Mr. Universe in Miami, making him one of only three competitors to beat Arnold.

And it was in a recent Instagram post that Frank wrote his tip on how to achieve an aesthetic figure. The main goal should be not to gain weight too quickly and build muscle mass on the forearms and calves.

Don't try to put on weight too quickly or you'll ruin your symmetry and proportions. Weight gained quickly goes mainly to the large muscle groups such as thighs, butt, pectoral muscles which are centrally located. A more aesthetic look is helped by building mass into the limbs such as calves and forearms.
