Ronnie Coleman commented on his 2300lb leg press

Last week, we revisited a moment that has gone down in bodybuilding history. It was a video of Ronnie Coleman doing two reps of an 800 pound squat! Ronnie himself commented on the squat that he had predetermined that he would do two reps. He subsequently stated that he could do 2-3 more reps, but he had pre-set that he would only do two and he did.

But this legendary training of Coleman did not end with squats. From the squat racks, Ronnie moved on to the legpress, which he had pre-determined to do his highest working set with 23000lb (1000kg). Despite squatting with 800lb on his back only a short while ago, Coleman now focused on the legpress. And the video of this phenomenal former bodybuilder working out with huge weights on the leg press is one of the most watched videos on YouTube, so Ronnie decided to watch the video again and describe to his fans what he was thinking at the time.

"My 2,300lb leg press video is one of my most watched videos on YouTube so I thought I'd respond to it and give you all a first hand glimpse into my thought process...Yeah Buddy," he wrote in the video's caption. (The original video has over 11 million views)

"The first repetition was really easy as you can see. I knew that once I got into the rhythm, I would do a lot of reps. And I would do a lot more than 2. I did as many reps as I could. I stopped on the last rep and that was rep number eight," Coleman says.

He then explains that he was still hugely motivated on the leg press from the previous squat, which was only a few minutes away. Ronnie goes on to state that he didn't need very long breaks and that even after the workout he was fit quickly. Which he also needed, as he was working full time in the police force. His typical shift was 10 hours!
