Kateřina Vomáčková in Istanbul: Fitness vlog full of inspiration
Hi, everybody! This video is going to be different than what you are used to on my YouTube channel, because I want to show you part of our week-long vacation in Istanbul.
It was my boyfriend and I's first time in Turkey and we really enjoyed it. Personally, we both like active holidays where we explore touristy places rather than just lying on the beach. At the same time, we take this time as we primarily want to relax, hence we usually take a complete break from our workout and eating regimen.
Although we love working out, training hard and eating healthy, we're not afraid to let go of that stereotype for a period of time and enjoy more variety in our meals, and we don't push our workouts at all either.
You'll see in the video that I only went to the gym once that week, which would have been unimaginable for me a few years back because I would have been afraid of losing all my progress in that time away from training. But the opposite is true. If we're working out most days at the gym, nothing will happen in that week away from training. Now I only go to the gym on vacation when I feel like it, and that's mostly because I want movement other than just walking. I usually go for something lighter like the full body workout mentioned in the video, or a workout where I engage my whole body. I'm not pushing myself to lift weights like I normally do, rather I want to engage my muscles in some way and at the same time I don't want to be tired from the workout but I want to have the energy to explore the city etc.

We all perceive holidays differently, and that's okay. Just as everyone eats differently, trains differently, the main thing for us should be that what we do suits us and that we get as much out of it as we need. It's just that now is such a time that everyone wants to show off on social media how good they are on holiday or what they look like, and that can lead to some self-doubt. In fact, people don't show on Instagram how they're sprawled out on the beach for most of the day, enjoying the food and the laid-back vibe, but rather we fitness enthusiasts are encouraged to post videos along the lines of how to work out with a rubber bum on the beach, etc.
So we need to be aware of what we expect from a holiday. Personally, I don't want to spend my holiday working out and eating like I do when I'm at home, despite the fact that I really enjoy it. I want to relax on vacation, explore new tastes, places, and most importantly relax mentally. We all have different goals, so it's good to keep them in sight, because just as no one is going to workout for us, no one is going to rest for us. And if we have the need to just keep taking from our bodies, they'll probably let us know at some point. So let's rest in our own way and not try to copy others, because our inner feeling is the most important thing.
I wish you to enjoy your holiday too, because you deserve it
