"Don't stop until it's routine," Arnold Schwarzenegger gives advice to beginners

Arnold Schwarzenegger still remains one of the most famous bodybuilders in history, and that's also why many people give in to his advice and tips. In his newsletter, for example, he stressed the importance of walking/eating high-protein foods every day for a longer and healthier life. Specifically, he stated the following:

"Good old fashioned walking can be your best lifeline. Researchers examined data on more than 47,000 people over seven years to see what effect step count has on mortality. And the numbers say a daily walk is an effective way to live longer, even if you don't change anything else. Growing up in Europe, walking after finishing a meal is perfectly normal.

Want to know how to eat more and lose more weight? Make sure you add some protein to your meals. Researchers have studied what happens when you add a little protein to your typical meal. Those who doubled their protein intake (from 15 per cent of their diet to 30 per cent) lost up to 11 kilograms - without changing anything else! The key is not to overthink it. The study participants swapped cream cheese for eggs at breakfast (they still ate bread), added cheese to their turkey sandwich (ditching mayonnaise and chips), and had beef lasagna for dinner (instead of regular pasta)."

Arnold even revealed what keeps people from succeeding. He encouraged his followers by sharing his personal experiences and hinted that he never had an alternative plan, and went all in.

I hate plan B. People perform better in sports and everything else if they don't have a plan B. I'm telling you, I've never, ever had a plan B. I made a full commitment to go and become a bodybuilding champion, I made a full commitment to be in America, I made a full commitment to get into show business, no matter what it took to get there.

One of the main reasons people want to have a plan B is because they're afraid of failure.

Let me tell you something, don't be afraid of failure. Because there's nothing wrong with failure. You have to fail to climb the ladder. There's no one who doesn't fail. It's okay. What's not okay is if you fail, you stay down.

Whoever stays down is a loser.

In his The Daily Pump, Schwarzenegger shared some advice for those just getting into fitness and working out. He stressed the importance of incorporating new habits and staying consistent.

"My advice for beginners is really simple: get started! And then don't stop until it becomes a routine. Once you start, the key is to keep up the pace. That's why I encourage everyone to set goals that they can achieve when they're just starting out. Train 10 minutes every day for a month. Then make it 15 minutes. Motivation is fleeting, but routine is what keeps you going. You have to make it a routine. Do what you can do every day for a month and then build on it."
