Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals his hardest PRs ever in bench-press, deadlift and squat

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of bodybuilding's greatest legends. During his career he managed to win several professional titles including those of Mr. Olympia. However, along the way, he also had to face many opponents who threw sticks under his feet. Despite this, Arnold has managed to achieve most of his dreams in his life, something that only a handful of people manage to do.

In one of our articles, we take a look at the life advice Arnold wrote in his newsletter. Schwarzenegger pointed out the need to take life into your own hands. Everyone has a talent that will help them achieve a desired goal, it's just a matter of realizing what it is and taking advantage of it. It doesn't matter if others believe in you, what matters is that you believe!

I want to tell you the story of Dick Fosbury, an engineer who once broke his arm trying to jump over a chair and then won an Olympic gold medal in the high jump. He was probably the least athletic guy, but he used what he knew, which was engineering, to find a way to beat the competition.

He learned that if he arched his back and jumped over the bar a certain way, he wouldn't touch it. This became known as the Fosbury Flop and is used by every high jumper today. Think about that the next time someone tells you you're not good enough. There is always a way to make the most of what we have," Schwarzenegger wrote.

Dick Fosbury pioneered the so-called "flop" high jump.

In a recent interview on Instagram, Arnold also shared his heaviest lifts. While these are impressive numbers, Schwarzenegger understands that they might not hold up compared to what today's bodybuilders are doing.

"My best bench press was 525lbs, my best deadlift 710lbs and my best squat 610lbs. So those were my best lifts back then, but I have to say they're not great at all compared to what some bodybuilders and lifters are doing today. I can tell you that because there are fighters today who squat 700, 800lbs, and there are fighters who bench press 600lbs," said Arnold Schwarzenegger.
