Wings of Strength Puerto Rico Pro 2022 - Hassan Mostafa takes the opening win!

San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, was the venue for the next edition of the Wings of Strength Puerto Rico Pro show on June 18th and 19th. On the stage of this event were representatives of the Open category, as well as fighters competing in the division up to 212 pounds.
Let's take a look at how the competition unfolded through the next few lines.

Open Category:

As was the case at the South Korean Monsterzy Pro 2022, only seven fighters presented in front of the judges. Of those, Hassan Mostafa in particular was considered a contender for the top spot, having announced long before the competition that he would be in the form of his life this year.

So it was no surprise when the judges chose Mostafa for the first semi-final comparison, in which he was joined by the trio of Andrea Muzi, Theo Leguerrier and Jonas Giatras, who was making his first professional start.

As Hassan Mostafa fulfilled what he promised, i.e. the form of a lifetime, and had no rival in any of his opponents, he deservedly took his first professional victory!

Hassan may not have been as full as he has been wont to be in the past, but that was a small toll on how prepared he came to the contest. In fact, he was perfectly sculpted, and full of details, many of which were seen in him for the first time ever!

This makes him the third Egyptian to directly qualify for this year's Mr. Olympia competition so far, after two-time Mr. Olympia titleholder Mamdouh Elssbiay and Mohamed Shaaban, who dominated the recent Toronto Pro Supershow 2022!

The second place, just like it was 14 days ago in Toronto, was won by the very well prepared French bodybuilder Theo Leguerrier. He has thus reached the top of the qualification list for this year's Olympia.

A very respectable third place in his professional debut was achieved by Jonas Giatras, who since his move to the elite, where he is headed thanks to his victory at the 2019 NPC Nationals, has managed to work not only on volume, but also on the balance between a better upper and slightly worse lower half of the body under the guidance of pre-contest preparation specialist Chris Aceto.

Fourth place went to Andrea Muzi, who was certainly hoping for a slightly better result.

The same can certainly be said for Max Charles, who scored the last vacant spot in the top 5.

Categories up to 212 lbs:

A total of ten fighters with a maximum weight limit of 212 pounds presented in front of the judges in San Juan. Due to the composition of the starting field, Dectric Lewis, who was able to dominate the 2020 New York Pro competition, was considered a slight favorite.
However, as it turned out right on the podium, his big rival was Oswaldo Gonzalez, only the ninth man at last year's Wings of Strength Tampa Pro, who has shown incredible improvement since his last competitive start

And it was Gonzales, who was a more powerful, more balanced and better prepared fighter than the favored Lewis, who not only scored his debut victory among the pros, but also his debut participation in the 212 Olympia!

Dectric Lewis had to settle for second place.

Right behind him was Enmanuel Rodriguez, who is holding his competition standard for now, and rightfully belongs to the third place in the qualification ranking for this year's 212 Olympia.

Fourth place goes to Abdullah Al Saif, who easily dominates the aforementioned qualifying rankings.

Ryan Walters also managed to break into the Top 5.
