Three tips for the end for girls who strength train
Don't forget about recovery:
While strength training is great for building strength and sculpting your physique, your muscles need time to recover and grow. Get plenty of quality sleep (7-9 hours a day), ensure you get enough protein for muscle recovery and consider incorporating active recovery such as yoga, walking or light stretching. Overloading the body without adequate rest can lead to overtraining and injury.
Don't be afraid of heavier weights:
Many girls are afraid of lifting heavier weights so as not to "look too bulky". But the opposite is true! Lifting heavier weights is key to building muscle mass, speeding up your metabolism and burning fat more efficiently. Don't be afraid to go beyond your comfort zone and gradually increase the load. You won't look like a bodybuilder right away, but you will get a strong, sculpted and functional body.
Focus on technique, not just the number of reps:
While it's tempting to focus on doing as many reps as possible, proper technique always comes first. Poor execution of exercises not only reduces their effectiveness, but greatly increases the risk of injury. It's better to do fewer reps with perfect form than lots with lousy form. Feel free to get on your phone and check your technique, or ask a more experienced trainer for feedback. Your body will thank you!
