The "star" of the 212lb division, Derek Lunsford, has changed coaches!

When James "Flex" Lewis decided to leave the division in 2018 after winning his seventh Olympia 212 Showdown and head to the Open category, his successor was Derek Lunsford, who finished a great 2nd place at the same event.

However, when he had to settle for the same place in 2019, when Kamal Elgargni won the title, and even had to settle for 4th place last year , finishing behind the trio of Shaun Clarida, Kamal Elgargni and George Peterson, he decided that all was not quite right, and if he wanted to become king of this division, as he really does, he needed to make a radical change!

He did make one, and it was a coaching change! James Brown, with whom he had been working for the last few years, was replaced by a world famous trainer, with whom such ESA's as Jay Cutler, Phil Heath, Dennis Wolf and Kevin English worked in their glory days, and currently "Persian Wolf" Hadi Choopan is working with him!

This trainer is none other than Hany Rambod, the author of the highly acclaimed FST-7 training system and owner of one of the most well-known nutritional supplement companies, Evogen Nutrition!

Whether this collaboration will be a success, and Derek will finally become the new king of the 212lb division, is of course a question for the future. But for now, we can take a look at how he was introduced as the new face of the aforementioned Evogen Nutrition via video.
