Froning's crossfit competition MAYHEM MADNESS cancelled

Following the removal of the team categories from the 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games, Rich Froning has decided to hold his own team competition at his CrossFit Mayhem gym. These were initially moved from Aug. 2-9 to Aug. 23-30, but ultimately Froning himself had to call them off. Why, you ask? Unfortunately, due to travel restrictions, four of the nine teams cannot make it to the races. As a result, Rich decided to cancel the races.

So Mayhem Madness now joins a long list of competitions that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And with California experiencing a steady increase in positive cases and several counties in the state shutting everything down and increasing restrictions again, including Monterey Bay, the county where CrossFit Ranch is located, the future of this year's games (Rebook CrossFit Games 2020) remains in doubt.

"Sorry we won't be able to host the event," Froning commented on Instagram, "Thank you all for your support."

Due to International Travel restrictions and other limitations imposed by COVID-19, we are sad to announce that we are canceling the Mayhem Madness Team Event. Here’s the silver lining: In addition to rewarding the qualified teams with shoes, @Reebok is also giving away fresh kicks to the winners of all 5 scaled workouts. Thank you to all the teams, volunteers and fans who supported our efforts and have continued to show support as we navigate the difficult terrain of 2020. Now, back to training for 2021. If you fit the description above, my team will be reaching out for sizing and shipping information soon. #repost
