Michal Križánek showed "off-season" form. His dominance doesn't end with competition
We recently wrote about Michal "Križ" Križánek's phenomenal success at the EVLS Prague Pro. As he said himself, he presented his "life form". On the stage we saw a perfectly prepared athlete - maximum sculpting, fullness and details that ensured his victory.
But what happens when the lights go out and the bodybuilder goes from a strict pre-contest diet to what is known as "off-season" mode?
Just yesterday, Michal Krizanek gave his fans a peek under the hood of his current off-contest form. And as you might expect, he commands a lot of respect this season.
The contrast between the "on" and "off" season
While in the EVLS article we were marvelling at the final product - that sharp, competitive form that comes from months of sacrifice - now we see the other, equally important face of bodybuilding.
The "off-season" is a period of building. It's a time for:
- Caloric excess: The body needs fuel for growth and recovery.
- Extreme training: the goal is to lift heavier weights and stimulate muscles to grow more.
- Less definition, more volume: There is naturally a slight increase in body fat and water retention, but this is necessary for building new muscle mass.
Krizanek's "off-season" is still impressive
What Križánek showed on social media yesterday, however, confirms one thing: for elite professionals, even "off-season" form often surpasses the competitive form of many others. While he is clearly in a bulking phase, he still retains an impressive amount of muscle mass and structure that defines him.
This phase is crucial. It is here that future victories are born. The muscles he picks up and "tweaks" now will form the foundation for his next competitive season.
While his form at the EVLS Prague Pro was all about perfection and sculpting, his current form shows promise. A promise that he is constantly pushing himself, working on his weaknesses and is determined to bring an even better version of himself to the stage next time. His work, in short, never ends.
