BONAC CLASSIC 2023 | NPC Wellness debut | Kateřina Vomáčková
On 3.12. in Amsterdam was held a competition under the auspices of the NPC federation called William Bonac Clasic. It was the second start of my season, two weeks after EVLS Prague.
After EVLS Prague I only managed a couple of training sessions and then I had a cold, so my preparation continued in bed. Which was not very pleasant. It was mentally challenging as I was afraid that my form would deteriorate. We had already secured the entry fees, flights and accommodation in advance, so all I could do was hope that I could recover by then. I ordered some health and immunity boosting products and eventually I managed to recover. Nexgen, Vitamin C, and Omega 3 helped me. Then four days into the race I tried to take it easy with my training and hoped it wouldn't get me down again, but luckily it didn't.
On Friday, December 1, we flew from Prague to Amsterdam together with my friend, coach and his two other charges Kristyna Pauříková and Tereza Jakubíčková, who compete in the bikini category. On that day there was a registration for the races and despite the fact that our flight was 4 hours late we thankfully made it. On Saturday we had a bit of a free day, as it was the day before the races. We spent it primarily at the hotel and relaxed. The regional races were held that day, but our goal was the Sunday ones for qualifying.

On Sunday, the day of the race, the wellness fitness category was on the agenda until around 5 o'clock, when right after the comparisons there was the final, which I thought was very nice, because you can concentrate on one climb.
In a packed competition I managed to get second place and therefore I really appreciate this placement. The competition itself was very nice, there was a great organization and overall it was really top notch for me. The backstage area was spacious and airy. There was even a room where the competitors could do their make-up, which I have never seen anywhere else. Everything felt great and I really enjoyed the race day because of it. As for my form, I think that despite being sick for about a week we managed to pull it off and eventually fill out even more. So I liked the final look even more than at EVLS.
If you're not new to the sport, it should be added that even if you come into the next race better, that doesn't immediately mean your placing will be better too. It can happen, and it's quite likely that you will run into stronger competition. That's why you need to take it sportingly and above all try to improve race by race or season by season. We have no control over who comes to the races or how the race officials decide as racers.
Finally, I would like to add that whether you compete in bodybuilding or train for fun or have another goal, it is important that you do it for yourself first and foremost, enjoy the fact that you are working on yourself and most importantly that you don't give up.
