Chaga (Inonotus obliquus, Kabanoanatake), a wood-destroying chorizoid fungus, is rich in a large number of bioactive substances. Chaga is a highly prized mushroom that has a long tradition in Siberian, Korean, Chinese, Northern European and Scandinavian folk medicine. The best quality species grow on birch tree trunks. In traditional medicine in Russia and has been used for many centuries, where Tsar Vladimir Monomakh was among the first to indulge in it. In Asia, however, it has been used for several thousand years. The first references to the use of Chaga in traditional Asian medicine come from the northern regions of China dating back 4,000 years ago. Chaga was also not unknown to the indigenous people of Japan.

It contains vitamins and minerals, melanin, which gives it its characteristic dark colour, the triterpene compounds betulin and betulinic acid, which Chaga obtains from its host birch tree. However, its popularity is based on very important polysaccharides - beta glucans, flavonoids, sterols or pteridines. Our products contain Chaga raw material grown on birch trees, in the north of China (Hei Long Jiang province) and eastern Siberia, where nature is practically untouched by man.
