Muscle mass and regeneration

During intense physical exercise, so-called catabolic processes occur in the muscles, where cellular energy is generated, but at the same time substances are broken down. In order to prevent excessive muscle degradation during exercise, the body naturally produces substances that promote regeneration and also proteosynthesis. Foremost among these is glutamine, an amino acid making up to 60% of the amino acids in skeletal muscle. However, with increased load due to intense training (or even unhealthy lifestyle or excessive stress), the body is not sufficient to cover its needs on its own. In such a case, glutamine synthesis takes place at the expense of the synthesis of other amino acids, and glutamine is also pumped out of the muscles, and therefore muscle mass degradation occurs. Therefore, it is very worthwhile to supplement it. It has a positive effect on regeneration, but also on proteosynthesis.

Regeneration

Glutathione, one of the most powerful antioxidants, is formed in the body from glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. Its properties are directly related to the suppression of free radicals. When they are present in excess in the body, oxidative stress occurs, which in the long term is the starting point for premature ageing and the development of most diseases. When the body's ability to suppress free radicals is insufficient, the body's defences also decrease, making it more susceptible to various bacterial, viral and other infections.

The digestive system

The intestinal mucosa is largely made up of glutamine. And since our digestive system, and especially the state of our intestines, determines our overall health, taking care of them is an absolutely essential part of taking care of the whole body. The intestinal mucosa can be damaged by poor diet, excessive use of medication, alcohol consumption, prolonged stress or emotional strain. Because of the damaged intestinal mucosa, unwanted substances enter the body and overall fitness, including physical performance, is reduced. However, if our gut is healthy, we absorb the supplemented macro and micronutrients better and our overall fitness increases.

Recommended dosage:

• During training days, the basic daily dose is 5 g after training. You can include an additional 5 g dose in the evening before bedtime. During non-training periods, you can take a break or continue with the regular dosage of 5 g twice a day.
