Tips for the end
1. Include a higher number of reps
Muscle pump is best induced with moderate to higher loads with a higher number of reps (10-20). Shorter pauses between sets will keep the muscles "pumped".
2. Don't be afraid of isolation exercises
Although the foundation is made up of complex exercises, the pump is most evident in isolation exercises where you target one muscle part directly.
3. Hydration is key
Muscle pump is closely linked to blood and fluid flow. Without a sufficient drinking regime, the pump will not be as pronounced.
4. Pump ≠ muscle growth
Don't confuse feeling good after a workout with direct evidence of growth. Pump is a motivating effect, but muscle growth is mainly due to progressive overload, proper diet and recovery.
5. Use the pump as motivation
While not a guarantee of growth in itself, it will help you keep the desire to train and better focus on working the muscle.
