Toronto Pro Supershow 2018 - results

Toronto, Canada, more precisely Metro Toronto Convention Centre, was the venue of this year's edition of the Toronto Pro Supershow, which is part of the IFBB Jim Manion Professional League.

Both heavyweights from the OPEN category and their lighter counterparts from the 212lb division presented their musculature and form to the judges there. It was in the latter category that we had our representative, Vojta Koritensky.

How did Vojta do? Was his performance in the eyes of the judges better than the one in New York? Not only about that, but also about the following lines.

Category up to 212 pounds:

Apart from the aforementioned Vojta, there were nine other fighters on the stage, of which Zane Watson and Cody Montgomery were the favourites right from the beginning.

This was also confirmed in the first semi-final comparison, where the judges called the six of Ahmad Ahmad, Adolph Quoida, Mboya Edwards, Mahmoud Al Durrah, Cody Montgomery and Zane Watson.

It was already clear at that moment that Vojta would be fighting with the other fighters for seventh place at most, which was certainly a great pity! Vojta was much sharper than he was in New York. Even with his proportions he certainly fit the concept of the first induction.

The fight for the triumph was then narrowed down to the pair of Watson and Montgomery, the latter originally considering competing in the Classic Physique category. However, as can be seen, his decision was not at all an odd one.

In the end, the victory went to the home fighter Zane Watson, who possesses excellent body symmetry, nicely put together muscles, and last but not least, great preparation. Another of his assets is his perfect presentation on the stage, which can work wonders on its own.
It is true that in terms of mass, he lags behind the real aces of this category, but given his height and weight limit, he can't do much about it.

Second place goes to Cody Montgomery. He too was competing at the limits of the category, and it showed in his form. He wasn't as full and tough as he was expected to be. His muscles looked rather flat and soft. However, in terms of body composition, he is one of the leading fighters.

Third place went to a perfectly prepared Mahmoud Al Durrah. He offered both perfect form and symmetrical, full, and granite-hard musculature. Certainly no one would have been angry if Mahmoud had finished ahead of Cody.

Unfortunately, the rankings of the other riders are not yet known, so we don't officially know how Extrifit team member Vojtech Koritensky did in the end. However, considering the course of the competition, we can conclude that he really did end up with the best result of seventh place, which can again be considered a notch from the overseas judges.

OPEN category:

There were much more heavyweights on the stage, eighteen in total. Juan Morel, Akim Williams and Cedric McMillan were the biggest favourites here. Many were expecting the performance of the home fighter Antoine Vaillant.

Not only their hearts must have skipped a beat when Antoine appeared together with the five of Juan Morel, Cedric McMillan, Akim Williams, Jeff Beckham and Rafael Brandao in the first semi-final comparison.

At first it looked like a Morel vs. McMillan battle, but the subsequent progression of the semifinals showed that Morel and Williams would duke it out for the win.

In the end, Juan Morel was able to enjoy the triumph, offering full and hard muscle. Unfortunately, however, he is starting to have problems with his lower legs, whose volume is starting to lag well behind that of his upper body.

Akim Williams, who gave a much more complex impression, not only in terms of physique but also in terms of muscle composition, had to settle for second place.

Third place went to Cedric McMillan. He benefited here mainly from the symmetry of his physique rather than form. It was more like a fighter in a form worthy of an exhibition or a photo shoot for a sponsor.

Antoine Vaillant, in the form of his life after a five-year break from competition, was a great fourth place. The home fighter benefited in particular from great proportions dominated by a very narrow waist.

Rafael Brandao competed with the same qualities and rounded out the Top 5.
