Strongman Klatovy 2025 - results and reportage

Lots of things happened on Saturday, August 2, 2025, the only thing that was lacking that day was sunshine. But at the shopping centre Škodovka OBI in Klatovy, even in rainy weather, there were great competitions of Czech professional strongmen. The organizer Lukáš Kadlec, a professional strongman, and his team did everything to make the competitions well prepared and they were.

9 Czech professionals competed in the following disciplines:

• Axle lift to max
• Axle deadlift to max
• Overhead medley
• Running medley
• Fence and tyres

Axle lift to max

Already the first discipline promised a great experience for the spectators. Despite the rainy weather several dozen of them came to support all the competitors. As there were very even results among the competitors, I will mention the only competitor who escaped everyone and took the victory in the discipline. Štěpán Bystřinec, the Czech king of all push-ups got a great 180 kg above his head.

Axle deadlift

The second discipline of the competition and the second to the max and the main role was again played by the axle, i.e. a thick, 5 cm in diameter measuring axle. All competitors scored 320 kg or more. Shared second place Matěj Brabec, Petr Klich, Marcel Šmejkal, all of them 370 kg. However, Emil Jamal Barták took the victory for himself, he lifted a fantastic 400 kg.

Overhead medley

The competitors had to lift a total of 4 weights over their heads: 100 kg bag, 140 kg Axle, 150 kg Log and 80 kg one-handed bar. Due to the weather very difficult and sometimes dangerous discipline. The Axle was the betrayal of most of the competitors. Only 2 fighters finished the discipline. Matador Pavel Zadražil took second place with a time of 76,09 seconds. The winner again was Stepan Bystrinets who got all parts over his head in 23,37 seconds. Cool.

Running medley

Just as in the previous event, the competitors had to carry 3 bags of 100, 140 and 160 kg over 20 meters and then a 180 kg bag over 10 meters. Here the intermediate times were counted. Unfortunately the bags were so soaked with water that no one doubted they were much, much heavier. None of the competitors brought a third bag. Although some came close. Third place Emil Barták with a time of 26,17 seconds. Second place Stepan Bystrinets with a time of 26,17 seconds and the winner of the discipline was Marcel Šmejkal, who really did well that day. His time was 23,66 seconds.

Fence and tyres

The last discipline was such a small, wet deliverance for everyone. The competitors had to carry a 320 kg fence on a 20 m long route, then roll a 450 kg tyre 4 times. The third place went to Pavel Zadražil, the king of Czech grips and actually tires. His total time was 26.78 seconds. He was surpassed by Emil Barták, who did everything in 22 seconds. The winner of the discipline was again Štěpán Bystřinec with a time of 20.32 seconds. Unbelievable speed.

The race was again with a great standard well prepared, Lukáš Kadlec has a lot of experience in this from the organizer and from the competitor. Unfortunately the only thing that could not be influenced was the weather. However, I am already looking forward to next year's event.
