Agromex Fendt Strongman Brno 2025 - results and reportage
I had been looking forward to this event for almost a year beforehand. Already last autumn we had corresponded with the organizer of the Brno races Ondra Zadzora and arranged cooperation. And everything turned out exactly as it should. Ondra prepared great races this year, for the tenth time. And I finally arrived to lend my voice to the whole event. Before I get into the actual report, I'd like to mention that Ondra has been swearing for a couple of years that ten times is enough. That the races are a nightmare in all respects, a lot of work, arranging, persuading, promising, anyone who has ever arranged a race will tell me. But I would definitely like Ondra to change his mind and at least get involved in other years, because it would be a shame for Brno to lose its races.

I arrived in the South Moravian metropolis a day earlier, so as not to complicate the situation with any delays on the way. I was already at the Brno Olympia shortly after 8 o'clock and at that time the preparations for the morning part of the program were already finishing. The beginners' race took place on 16 August 2025 from 9 am. The program was followed by the amateur strongman competition. The helpers oscillated and prepared unique events, some of which were made specifically for the competition.
All competitors went through the same disciplines today, a little lighter in the morning due to the category of competitors. In the afternoon, harder.
- Tractor pull
- Medley - Loglift and Stone to shoulder
- Medley - Super Yoke and Frame carry
- Bags over bar
- Barrel hold
Beginners
Nine o'clock struck, and the main referee of the competition, retired professional strongman Tomas Sikora gave instruction to a total of 22 beginners. A detailed explanation of the rules is necessary to keep the race running smoothly and avoid unnecessary prolongation. Already in the morning the first spectators started to come.
Tractor pull
As the first discipline, spectators were asked to move from the side of the entire race track, where a 20 metre long track was prepared for the Fendt tractor pull. Of the two specimens present, the smaller one was pulling on the counter - I rechristened it "Hummingbird" on the spot, but as the tractor looked small I was advised that a 4x4 converted Hummingbird weighs just over 3.5 tonnes plus 100kg Mr Driver. As it turned out, it was definitely not an easy discipline. Only one competitor managed to pull the tractor the full 20 metres. For the others, it was decided on the band and how many times it was centimetres. The third place winner, Erik Steiniger, managed to pull the tractor to 15.6 meters. Second Matěj Spyták finished just before the finish line at 19.7 meters. The winner of the discipline and the only one who showed the finish line to the hummingbird was Martin Masha with a time of 39.84 seconds.
Log and Stone
The competitors in this medley had 2 simple tasks, to get a 100 kg log over their head twice and then to run to the second station and get a 90 kg stone on their shoulder. Although the task sounded simple, it required at least basic strength training to complete. Most of the competitors did well with the discipline, but the stone was a bit of a nut to crack. The bronze place went to Čeněk Říha, who did everything in a time of 23.60 seconds. Silver went to Peter Klukavý thanks to his time of 23.30 seconds. Martin Máša won the highest place again, finishing the discipline in 22.96 seconds.

Super yoke and Frame carry
The course is ready, on one side Super Yoke, on the other side Fence or Frame. The route was exactly 15 meters long and the carry was one part there and one part back. Super yoke weighed 250 kg and Fence 200 kg. Well next time I can recommend to add weight, because the vast majority of the starting field not only made it to the finish line, but some of them literally sprinted through the route. Even though the time limit was a long 60 seconds, most of them managed less than half of it. Third place with a time of 18.13 seconds went to Michal Cupal. The second place went to Igor Horníček, who managed a time of 17.93 seconds. Usein Bolt of today's race was a great competitor of Jarda Svoboda, not only a coach, but also the president of the Czech National Strongman Federation. The fastest was Zbyněk Zachař, when he literally flew through the course in 17.73 seconds and took full points.
Bags over bar
450 centimetres, that was the height of the bar that had to be jumped over. While the weight of each sandbag may sound "light" i.e. 12, 14, 16, and 18 kg, try throwing it up 4.5 meters. That's not so much fun... And it wasn't for the competitors either, who struggled in some cases. The third place went to Jan Laube, a great thrower, who surprised with a time of 20.53 seconds. Second place went to Matěj Sypták, who threw all the bags in a fantastic 15.23 seconds. Another victory in the discipline was scored by Martin Máša, almost 3 meters tall, the ward of the best Czech strongman in our history Ondra Fojtů, who finished the discipline in 14.33 seconds and gained another 22 points.
Barrel Hold
The Czech premiere of the world competition, a discipline that was made especially for this competition and you will continue to see it in the SPC Gym. Design with ladder and raised base. The competitor climbed up, closed the safety rail, stood up, measured the height of the handrail where the barrel hung on a chain under the floor, which in this case weighed 160 kg. The helper shortened the height of the chain by a few stitches and after straightening it again the competitor held the barrel in his hands. It was all about grip, strength, back and head. It was not a short discipline, the competitors held for a long time. For most a minute was no problem, for the best it was two minutes. Third place Matej Spyták with a time of 2:26,46 seconds. Second place Simon Ropek, he lasted 2:27,76 seconds. Ondřej Fidler won the discipline, 2:35,50 seconds.
The first part was finished. Zbyněk Zachař won the third place with his constant results, Igor Horníček the second place and Martin Máša the first place. Congratulations. Originally an hour break was announced, but due to a small delay from the morning and weather forecast it was necessary to start as soon as possible. The second part of the program started as originally planned at 2 pm. In the amateur part 16 amateur strongmen presented themselves. Their disciplines were the same as in the morning part, however, the weight of individual weights was increased.

Amateurs
After the briefing, it was straight to the start.
Tractor pull
This single discipline was pretty much the same as the morning, that's because the heavier of the two tractors was too heavy. Plus one thing I didn't mention, by holding the race in the shopping centre car park, the tractor route was not straight, the individual sections are on a slight incline, this is in case of rain, to avoid water in the car park. That's why the sixth metre was a stumbling block for most of the competitors, and then the fifteenth, where the unevenness was always the worst. As in the morning, the hummingbird was too heavy for about half of the racers, and that's why their meters counted. For the better half, Thomas's stopwatch was necessary. Third place Ondřej Batelka, with a commitment to his own tractor, made it to the finish, even as the first competitor in the field. His time was 38.30 seconds. Second place went to Lukáš Přikryl with a time of 36.9 seconds. The fastest tractor in the field of competitors was Ivo Dávidík with a time of 36.7 seconds.
Loglift and stone
2x log weighing 120 kg and once lifting a stone weighing 125 kg on the shoulder. Of course, all parts of the medley were timed to see who placed and how. The idea was to eliminate as much as possible the split placings, which can embarrass many a judge and shuffle many a race. The bronze went to Vojta Slavik, with a time of 43.64 seconds. Ondřej Šoukal took a close silver, when he did everything in 43.06 seconds. The gold medal was won by Ivo Dávidík, again well prepared, with his time of 40.62 seconds.

Super yoke and Frame carry
Just like in the morning, pim pam here and there... The only downside was that the race had to be interrupted for about 15 minutes because of a solid rain. There were a few upper teens of spectators before the rain, unfortunately most didn't return after the rain. I find it a bit of a shame, but such a tribute is the consumerist way of life these days, more comfort was had by the spectators in the mall. Too bad. Yet the discipline on which the competitors carried 340 kg on their backs to then carry 270 kg in their hands was very interesting from a spectator's point of view. Third place went to Ondra Batelka, who finished the discipline in 23,75 seconds. In 22,07 he was overtaken by Martin Szabo and took the second place. Viktor Čajka took the victory, flying through the course in an incredible 21.11 seconds.
Bags over bar
Throwing again, only a little bit too heavy, this time the bags weighed 16, 18, 20 and 22 kg. And that's an increase like crazy. The worst bag was bag number 3, the 20kg one. Only 2 competitors managed to flip the third and then the fourth bag. Otherwise, everyone finished second. But thanks to the intermediate times, it was clear who placed. The third place for a lightning start went to Martin Szabo, who threw "only" 2 bags, but the second bag was thrown in 8.32 seconds. Second place and the one who threw all 4 bags, Viktor Čajka, his time 19,71. Winning the discipline, again all bags, but in a massive 14.2 seconds Tomas Zavadil.

Barrel Hold
Barrel hold as a conclusion. This time the barrel weighed 220 kg, although it may seem like not so extremely much, the opposite is true. It is the fifth discipline, the competitors are already tired, moreover they tested the grip at Frame Carry, as well as destroyed themselves throwing bags... most of the competitors have tried several other attempts after failing to throw the bag. Fatigue was therefore in place. But I've also already suggested that disciplines with time endurance are very much about the head, unfortunately from my own experience I know that every second during the execution of the discipline takes an incredibly long time, time seems to slow down at least five times. Ondra Šoukal showed his strength and head as the third best when he lasted 1:32,86 seconds. The other times in first and second place were already over 2 minutes and for that I definitely take my hat off. Martin Szabo, 2:01,12 and a great second place. Patrik Novotný was the winner of the discipline, holding on to a fantastic 2:03.80 seconds.

In spite of the missing spectators after the afternoon rain shower and the approaching next one, it was a fantastic race. Third place went to Viktor Čajka, second place to Ivo Dávidík and Martin Szabo took the top spot with his great performance. The feeders, who hauled unreal tons that day, worked like a Swiss clockwork, the organization and preparation was great, the place, at least, very interesting, pity only the "lazy" Spectators, most of those who reacted and worked belonged to individual competitors, of course there were exceptions, but the hot morning weather and the sharp sun, then the afternoon rain and cooling caused that the race was always watched by at most higher dozens of people instead of hundreds, because I am sure that strongman sport is very interesting to watch, just because everyone is lifting and carrying weights that ordinary mortals do not lift off the ground.

I hope I didn't drive people away with my voice, and that everyone was happy. I would also like to mention the DJ desk and the equipment that Leoš Kubeš, probably the most famous strongman event presenter in our country, brought to the competition. Leoš took over the music and the whole day was underlined by excellent music, which matched the individual disciplines. And I must admit, when I learned that I would be moderating right in front of Leoš, I had a bit of stage fright, but only a bit.
I also have a small appeal for Ondra Zadžora, who doesn't know him, he is also a retired professional strongman. Ondra, definitely don't stop organizing competitions, it would be a shame, the tradition you started deserves to be continued, even at the cost of gradually finding a successor and retreating into the background. I know there are more of you enthusiasts in Brno... I hope to see you next year.
