Jiri "CZECH LION" Tkadlcik became World's Strongest Man 2024 U105kg of SCL association!

On Sunday, Jiri Tkadlcik achieved a historic success in Finland at the World Strongman Championships in the weight category up to 105 kg, organized by the SCL Association, when he won the gold medal at the World's Strongest Man 2024 U105kg. This triumph came just five weeks after his previous success.

Czech strongman Jiri "The Czech Lion" Tkadlcik took second place at the European Strongman Championships in the same weight category, held in Hungary. This competition, which started his season, brought him a silver medal after adding up the points. This happened in early May, and a month later came gold at the World Championships in June.

However, the race was not easy as he faced not only obstacles but also health problems. "It's hard to describe, I don't really know what happened for two days, it was very intense and interesting. No Czech has ever won it before, so I thought it would be good to win,"

Tkadlcik described his plans for the three-day competition.

"I think I was in the form of my life. The first day went beautifully, everything worked out perfectly. The second day I woke up, everything was fine, I went to lunch, but then I pulled my leg wrong, but I didn't do anything wrong and my back was totally fucked up. Because I had problems with my discs, I couldn't do anything, I couldn't straighten up and in an hour the second day of racing started."

Tkadlcik shared his difficulties.

Although he was in first place, his health betrayed him. He was faced with the decision to continue and take the risk or give up the race.

"I had about 30% of my strength, weighed the risks and went on with the race. My back was really bad, a ping pong ball kind of made a mess on my butt, I didn't know what happened but I didn't want to give up even though I was in a lot of pain. I took pain pills and went to the hotel after the second day. My head was spinning, I couldn't bend over, I was stiff but I still believed. But. It seemed pretty unrealistic to go into the third day. At night I didn't sleep, I prayed, I thought how to do it. On Sunday it was better, so I went to the first discipline, I wanted to finish the World Championships."

Tkadlcik said of his plan.

And then miracles started to happen. He won the first discipline of the third day.

"I don't know how I picked it up, I went from third place to second overall, then somehow I got it going and I don't know what happened, I won, huge euphoria. On my knees on Saturday, on top on Sunday, I don't know how to describe it,"

said an elated Tkadlcik, who wasn't just fighting for himself.

"It's a great achievement, maybe my greatest sporting achievement. My daughter was here with me, maybe that's why I didn't give up, she saw that my dad didn't give up, it's a good example for life. I just rubbed it in, worked hard. Before the last discipline I was nervous, my daughter came to me and told me I was the best. One day you're up, one day you're down, but you're still a lion."
