The competition started with the so-called basic round. Each competitor had 3 minutes to perform his set, and the jury also judged the endurance of individual athletes and how they would use the 3 minutes to the maximum.
Fernando Selby opened the competition, and showed sets mainly combined with dynamic exercises. Then came the Italian school of street workout characterized by strength and technical exercises of the highest difficulty and quality.
The Italian school was represented by Erik Barsi, Christian Innocenti and Allesio Fiumara. It was they who started the routines of combined maltesers on trapeze, bars and ground with planche exercises with very long holding times and transitions to other strength exercises.
The Ukrainian school followed immediately, which is also characterized by perfect execution of the more technical strength exercises, but with very challenging transitions into dynamic exercises with minimal rest periods.
Then the German school, the Czech school and the Polish school were presented, which have a similar style to the Ukrainian school. The Polish school was characterized by athletes only in the 70+ kg weight class, a weight category where every kilogram of weight is very important for the execution of strength exercises.
The Spanish school was represented by five athletes from the Iberian Peninsula. The Spanish school is very similar to the Italian school, and it is based mainly on very heavy technical strength exercises with long holding times and perfect execution.
